Last time I checked the line was pretty blurred. LCD and Plasma are two different technologies. LED are probably the brightest? For me TV technology has passed my needs by leaps and bounds to the point were I would just look for dependability over performance. I want to just buy a TV and know it'll last for 10 years.

dont buy plasma. shit sucks.
the best right meow is OLED. then LED, then LCD.
lcd still rocks though, is cheap, and no burn in. get 120hz or higher if you can.

Plasmas are great if you have a home theater in your basement. They arent so bright but the colors (particularly the blacks) are deeper. But since they arent so bright they arent as good in a brighter room (though that has been fixed over the past years to some extent). LCDs are good for the $$. I have a Vizio that has been working great for me since '07 when I got it. OLED and LED would be sexy but my LCD is doing well enough for the time being.

I haven't shopped in years since I got my LCD, but I have done some reading and research and I thought that (like the dark issues) those problems were more or less fixed. Granted they may not have the same lifespan as a LCD but they aren't bad anymore. Maybe I am wrong, like I siad, havent researched too much lately, but I thought I heard that somewhere.

The one person I know who actually graduated from unity cant get a job
I have probably 7-8 friends who started at unity, and quit because they were wasting their time. All of them are working at what they went to unity for.
