THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wow, it smells like someone had diarrhea, and put that in my rear axle instead of gear oil. It was all fine until I got the pinion out, man that little bit of gear oil back there smelt terrible.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

12 beers from your average 12 pack would make me puke but not from intoxication. I would puke from utter distaste of crap beer.
True, It has to be good beer for me to drink it, but most of the time I stick to rum or whiskey
I can even stand some of the crap I used to drink when I was in school :puke:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone have any suggestions on what to paint my rockrails with? I have the JCR stage 3 and was planning on using some primer plus some rustoleum satin black most likely. Should I spray it on or would it be easier getting something I can brush on?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

does anyone know if xj and tj d44 shafts are interchangeable?

Depends.

Dimensionally they are the same (lengths, spline counts, etc). The retainer plates will be different.

If you have disc brakes on your XJ44, then just redrill the retainer plate and reuse it as it has the spacer you'll need already built into it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so the deathtrap MJ survived another PA trip... I dunno what I did to this thing but it just keeps going.

I have most of the stuff that was requested, with some exceptions (no shafts yet, no seats yet, no headers of approximately the right color.) Will be delivering/arranging pickup this week.

I'm also not able to get it as often as all you seeing the age difference. But my size plays a large part in it also. I was pretty:speepin: after them butI could still function. But work the next morning 7am-1030pm BLEW!
drink a xxxxton of water while boozing it up and you won't have hangovers... has been working for me for 3 years now. And don't break the seal.

I only gamble with my life, money is no fun.
X2 on that

I'd probably do rustoleum hammered, it's supposedly stronger, definitely go with something easy to patch

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

me but its not for sale, and i wont waste my time with a lt1, i would toss that motor in a cheap fox body stang though

That was my other thought since I have been shopping for fox bodies lately and have seen a couple with blown engines for pretty cheap. Right now I am trying to figure out how much it would cost for all the wiring harnesses and such. Figure a painless would be required but idk how those engines worked (i.e. how hard it would be to install a manual tranny behind it and how the computer would play with a manual). i have never done an engine or trans swap so idk how the computers would handle tranmission swaps and such.

Edit: Hmmmm, the more I think of it I would rather buy a fox body with 5.0 and keep it ford... that and it would be cheaper than doing all the work installing a LS or LT1. Now doing something completely batshit insane like trying to do a LT1 powered rear engine 92 camry... THAT is something which I would be looking into if I had my own house and the room for another car :D The "only" real expensive part of that would be the Porsche transaxle that would be needed, most of the rest would just be reinforcing the unibody and building a cradle for the engine, a new firewall, redoing the interior completely, etc. But that would be awesome enough to make the investment worthwhile.

I poured oil into my comanche's gas tank

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I ran my XJ on 2-stroke gas for a few miles when I ran out of gas after using my reserve tank up and forgetting last summer. It smoked like hell but ran and worked well enough to get me to the gas station to fill back up, luckily I only needed to add about a half gallon and still had about a gallon of normal gas in the tank

that core charge is bs, no biggie though. i picked up a long side shaft and hub today, just need a short side shaft

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, that's what I thought too.

I should be able to get shafts at Sam's for 30 each with no "core charge", which is 5 less than it would have been at Shorty's with the core charge.

I've griped way more than enough about the core charge BS, but it just rubs me the wrong way to be charged a core charge on a non rebuildable item. The whole point is that the core could be rebuilt... core charges on axleshafts/bumpers/fenders?! :bs:

x2. I find Gatorade actually works even better. Drink a couple bottles of gatorade over the course of the day/night (while drinking) and then drink 2-3 large glasses of water immediately before passing out. The glasses before passing out will probably make you wake up to take a piss after a few hours. After taking a piss down a couple more glasses of water. Repeat until awake. Hasn't done me wrong yet. The most I ever get is feeling a bit lazy and un-motivated the next day but that's about it.

Not to be a PITA, but when you're around at junkyards and remember, could you grab the shafts out of an 85-91 wagoneer if you see any? Probably won't see many, but I would very much appreciate it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've only seen two wagoneers in junkyards... one was at the fall all you can carry and one was at another yard a while ago I think. I'll keep my eyes open but yeah, likely to not see any...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i think this weeks goal will be to make up an axle stand and get the 14b mounted on the bridgeport. then, ill attempt to flatten the bottom for the plate to be added on. if everything works and i dont break the bridgeport/end mills, maybe ill have enough enuthasim to go buy a nice vice and mill the plate to weld on.
