THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so far, this is the only picture that has yet to be uploaded of my rear roll... the second picture shows the same climb from the side, but the camera is tilted a bit. look at the high tension line supports in the back ground... those are vertical.

i'll be getting a bunch of pictures tomorrow from adam and colin, i'll put them up on the UJ site when i do

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, i think you answered... cept for how far away, but that's ok.

anthony, as far as your stand-off distance, when there is less wire exposed, more power is transfered to the puddle. with a farther distance, more power is lost from the wire tryin to heat itself up. good example of this is spooling a few feet of wire out of the gun, then tryin to start an arc. the all the exposed wire will jsut start to glow red and not even enough power will transfer through to even form an arc. also, when theres more wire exposed, it means the gun is farther away which means a better chance for contamination from a lack of sheilding gas (at least when using gas, not flux core).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

zj seats are bolt-in. just bolt the xj bracket on them and they work. worth while to have the comfort and the heated option.

p.s. bought a smittybilt xrc8 winch today...280 shipped.

Yeah they are extremely comfortable. Heated seats are definitely sweet.

The only thing I don't like about them is the height. I hit my head in Adam's roof easy, and I'm about 6' 2". But I don't think you have the power hooked up right Adam? Maybe you can drop it down?

That's a really good answer. It's hard to give an actual distance since there are so many variables. Knowing what you're welding, I'd try to keep it about 1/4-3/8" away. More than that and you'll quickly lose the temps to get good penetration. As for not being able to see it, learning where to situate yourself in relation to the weld so you can see it takes some practice, and even then you'll still find times where you have to weld blind.

Sorry, I was in a rush and only really saw the "how much of an angle" part. Looks like Rob and Ross answered it for ya. Really, nothing beats practice.
Was a great time. UJ definitely has a lot of cool people in it.
Thinking about joining them as well now...
Ya, they seemed like a great bunch of people when I meet some of 'em. Looks like you guys had a sweet time.

Side note, Colin I think I'm gonna have to bail on you Saturday. :sad1:
I'd love to go and really really want to, but I also want to get work done on mine. I've got to use these not-so-nice weather weekends to their fullest because once this snow melts more I'm gonna loose a couple weekends to the MAJOR amount of yard work due to all these damn downed trees. :( Long story short, if you want to see me wheelin with ya at any point this summer, I have to bail on ya now.

Don't worry about it man, plenty more wheeling trips to go on.

Get your crap done and then you don't have to ride shotgun any more. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just got done putting a Dynomax Trush 2 chamber muffler on a friends xj, sounds pretty good, about as loud as the 50 series flowmaster on my jeep, but a third the price

How does it sounds compared to the Flowmaster? A buddy of mine had a 44 then a 50 series on a TJ and I despised the sounds of both of them very much. Much to "ricer" for me. Then again, maybe I have the old man mentality about exhaust sounds, in which the only thing the deserves a loud exhaust is a healthy 8 cylinder.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im giving the pictures and videos to Colin so he can give them to Kyle so they can be put on the UJ site. In time Anthony...in time.

sounds like any other 4.0 with a flowmaster stlye muffler, i actually think it sounds better then a flow, i ran the same muffler on my 92 F150 with a 5.0 and it sounded badass, were putting one on a friends 4.7 Durango this weekend, cant wait, that should sound badass too
