This is a car stuck behind my building. My road is still shut down.
don't know what this car was thinking

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

he was thinking "I need to get somewhere and the water doesn't look that deep OH CRAP"

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So, on my way to work this morning, I was stopped at a light with my defroster on, and noticed my voltmeter was reading about 12 volts, rather than 14. I turned that off, and the needle went up to 14, then dropped again. Needle would move up to 14 once I got going, but woudn't really stay at 14 when I was sitting.

Was 45 minutes late to work this morning, because both ends of the street I work on was closed due to flooding. Man I really wished I had my green jeep this morning.

my jeep does that too... bad belt me thinks. only does it intermittently. alt is new.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I ordered a 1' cylinder of 1.75" OD Delrin from mcmaster carr to make TRE spacers for my truck. Justin wants me to make him two.

I know Anthony might want one.

Mark you want one too?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

colin, we can do them on my grandfather's lathe next weekend if it gets here in time... that way they'll be nice and flat faced.

edit: or you could give it to me and i'll make 5 or 6 of em so you don't need to drive to grafton to babysit...

Doesn't matter to me.

I was just gonna go real slow with my chop saw and drill the holes myself.

Not like they have to be precise to thousandths of an inch.

i doubt it would work well with a chop saw. delrin is really plasticky. it would just melt if you cut it with a grinding wheel. a band saw would work best, if anything. i was just thinking in terms of surface finish and i like my parts to be nice and pretty :sunshine:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sounds like a plan.

but don't we each need 3 spacers? drag link to tie rod and one at each knuckle?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

using it to prevent tie rod roll?

lower your junk, go over the knuckle, or go crossover.

i have zero tie rod roll at 5" of lift otk. and my friends that ran those spacers in new england went through tie rod ends like crazy (dirt, water and rust is allowed to get in there)

This is for my CTD. Not lifting it, not lowering it, not going OTK.

Never going to wheel it.

Hardly ever sees any dirt.

I just offered it to other people if they wanted it.

And half of my TREs are missing boots on my XJ (been that way since last year). Haven't gone through a TRE yet. Granted they're old stock MOOGs (made in USA). They looked like they had been sitting on a shelf for YEARS.
