THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sweet so I finally got my PS3 to hook up to my computer wireless so now I can watch downloaded movies and shows on my TV rather than a small comp screen.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sheep, that video was funny as hell

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you have a garage.

Off to put the new hood on the MJ, now that it's light out again...

:shiver:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Looks like a possibility of more snow for me on Wednesday. But at this point who knows. Weather stations suck at predicting the weather.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

time to go work on the jeep, gots to fix a front u joint before lobster's this weekend

yeah, garage is nice. I think I should be taking my sweatshirt off and working in a t-shirt today.

And half way done with the rear brakes. Hopefully this fixes my issue and I don't actually have any front brake problems.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Who needs a garage? I have a snow/ice filled driveway. Don't even need a creeper.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahaha I did that when I put my new tie rod on, I just grabbed a random cardboard box and slid around on that so I wouldn't melt into the layer of ice.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

2nd side much quicker.

and I thought I got through an entire project with no busted knuckles... putting the last bolt on I caught my knuckle and this one is bleeding pretty good. Oh well, test drive time.

Edit:Damn, still feels like something is up with the brakes. Looks like I am doing the front rotors next wkend. :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my dad just sent me an email. i guess a juvenile bald eagle has been spotted multiple times on a lake in my town. it'd be kinda neat to have one living in the town, especially with how rare they are.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i have no idea when, but my driver u joint had spit a cap a while ago, while another was working its way out, and the shaft wobbling around is probably what made it piss out gear oil. the 760 shaft managed to oval out pretty good on the stub side. i dont have any spare 760 shafts but had a 260 shaft and ujoint, so that's in there now. good thing i'm not locked up front now, or it would definately go boom at lobsters this weekend!

along those lines though, does anyone have a drivers 760x stub shaft floating around? if you could bring it to lobsters it owuld be great! i don't really have time to head to a yard this week to get another spare

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So i decided to pull the rear drums and re-adjust them since my pedal was pretty poopy. first, one of the studs decided to strip the knurls holding it in place and just spin when i tried to loosen the lugnut. so after cutting it off and getting another one and installing it, i started on the brakes.

then i realized something funky on the PS. Who the f*ck bends their shoes?!?!?

Like seriously?? turns out the wheel cylinder bolts were loose and this was the result i guess.

Yes, the shoes are barely still alive with minimal life left. Yes, im a cheapass. Yes, i got my torch, heated the brackets, put it on the anvil and hit it flat with the sledge hammer:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i then proceeded to put my front d-shaft back in and broke one of the bolts off in the yoke on the d30 with a little bit of "Lefty loosy, Rossy breaky". looks like i might as well do the pinion bearings now when i go to swap on my spare yoke.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well, the hood's on the MJ now... except the stupid plastic clip on the end of the sheath for the hood release cable busted off. Glad I cut the hood release cable that came with it long enough that I can stick it out the front grille for now, gotta pick a new cable up tomorrow at the junkyard I guess.

Also, dremel cutoff wheels cut skin just as well as angle grinder ones do. I feel like I was just brutally mauled by a chihuahua.

EDIT: Kyle, I have a pass side shaft/joint/unit bearing out of my 96 that looks like it's for 760s (1.18" bearing caps.) Are you looking for the inner shaft or the outer shaft? It's really really rusty, but the caps aren't loose in it. Once I swap the drivers side out too (no idea when, hopefully soon) I'll have that as a spare too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah ken the 760s are 1.18", the 260s are 1.08" i think. all i need is the stub shaft, i want to keep my unit bearings if possible since its new and the longer part of the shaft didn't spin or anything. the passenger and driver side stubs are the same actually, so if you have an extra i maybe might get that from you. how much would you want / are you going to lobsters this weekend? i'm just going to run it as is for now, i don't think i'll break a 260 open real easily..... i hope
