Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone know the drum size on a 8.25 29 spline. is it 8-or-10"
Oh I could do everything easy enough. I have been running on a driveway alignment for the past 40k miles with no (obvious) tire wear issues. And I have done all new steering in the past so I know how to get stuff on and off (explains why I had that "fancy" little tool which worked quite well at the JYDo it. Cheap, easy, heck I didn't even have a tape measure, I just used a 6 foot long piece of threaded rod I happened to have and stuck my thumb on it to measure :gee: Came out great. I found the toughest part was getting the TREs on the new one to stop spinning while tightening the semi rusty crown nuts on, at the knuckle end I just put my bottle jack under it and pushed up till it was slightly flexed then cranked the nut down, at the other end I put my problem solver (4 foot piece of 1" iron pipe) behind the tie rod, braced it against something or other, and yanked forward hard while I tightened it down. You'll want some 1/8" x 1.5" stainless steel cotter pins, check the drawers in the hardware aisle at Home Depot, a baggie of 3 is like 89 cents or something. It wasn't even that hard with my front skid plate installed. The only other thing I did to make my life easier was that I removed the adjuster completely and hit the threads on the TRE and tie rod with my angle grinder, then put some antiseize on before reinstalling.
