so work was fun today.
i had my windshield replaced in october
it leaked. i thought it was my gaping holes in my door seals so i tightened them up
still leaked
i ran a smoke machine along the edges and sure enough smoke poured right in.
called the place that came and put the windshield in a couple weeks ago
they re-sealed it and said if i ever had any problems to give them a call.
well it still leaked
i call
im talkin to this guy and he asks "well did it leak before we put the windsheild in?"
i say "no" then he asks how long i had the jeep before then
"about 6 weeks"
so he asks me "well why are you blaming us? it could be something else"
me- "im pretty sure it rained in those 6 weeks i had it prior to you installing the windshield and it was fine. as soon as you installed it it began leaking and i just had the smoke machine on it and smoke was pouring in"
him- "well sounds like you have some rust repair to do, those jeeps rot out. if you want you can take the windshield out, weld in a new piece of metal and bring it here and i will personally put the new windshield in"
me- "ok first of all the guy who installed it did mention the rust and said my jeep only had a little bubbling and had nothing to worry about in the near future, and second, how would you reccomend me remove the windshield safely?"
him "well you need special tools to do that, and we use the BEST sealer around so you will have a hard time getting it out"
me- "so you expect me to take the windshield out with tools i dont have, tow my jeep to your shop and you will fix everything?"
him- "well just bring it down to my shop tomorrow and i will take care of it"
me- "i work 7 to 4 and cant get a ride"
him "well i dont know what to tell ya, find a ride, im not gonna send my guys out there for your problem"
and the conversation ended
fast forward 20 minutes later and one of their mobile installation vans pull up and they fix it (i hope)
the guy installing it went on and on about the rust and how its probably all rotted, then once the windshield out i went in there and made damn sure the metal was fine around the windshield frame (which it was) and then he goes on to say "well theres no signs of leaking it must be your roof rack" so i tell him about the smoke machine test, and he continues to blame the roofrack as he installs it.

these guys do it for 118 with a new windshield and will come to mah house and do it

Haha, ya that was great.
I would have stuck around to watch that, but I wanted to book it out of there as fast as i could before colin's dad's friend Chris noticed the car I was driving. He gave me enough crap for test driving the mini cooper.

you could of saved alot of money by using plexiglass and doing it your self, and you dont have to woory about it when you hit trees

I pay them enough money every year for my damn insurance that I have zero qualms about having them replace glass whenever it breaks, heck if my windshield gets any more pitted I may resurface it with a 6lb hammer
I paid $0 due to my glass insurance covering it 100%
