His is from Florida or where ever the hell it came from. I was saying east coast. I've been around a ton of 10+ year old chevys and a good amount of 20+ year old FSJs and I'm always more impressed by how the FSJs hold up. Not counting the "newer" waggys. I have been told it's the carbon content in the frames but I dunno. All I know is chevys suck and they're super lame. My truck has had two dumb ass owners before i got to it and it's solid. Not rust free but way better than the chevy I owned that was 10 years newer.

i can agree on the chevies suck, Johnny gots a 98 and his father gots a 99 both gots lots o rust and a bunch of other issues, and BTW Bill my 92 F150 had zero rot

Also before I got into the Honcho I was shopping for a chevy. I looked for over a year for a decent chevy. I had a choice between rust/rot free since it was restored or extensively worked on or total pieces of junk. There was no "fixer uppers" and the first full size jeep truck I looked at was just what I was looking for. Maybe a coincidence but I dont care. My 1/2 jeep came with a transmission that got put in chevys 3/4 & 1 ton trucks. An engine that is 30 years old and still runs fine and everything that needs fixing is completely in reach of anyone with a decent set of tools and the ability to spin a wrench to fix.

I knew less about automobiles than the PO. When I bought it I knew that it had a good frame and shifted fine, nothing else. Most of you didn't know me before I even bought the honcho a little over a year ago but just about everything I know about jeeps/trucks/automobiles/whatever has been learned in that time.

Colin and Adam can speak to how little I used to know.

First: There's more than one T-bones?! I thought there was only one down here. Does the one out that way have the "beer list" where you get to design a glass if you complete the full list of like 40 beers?

Second: What is this pano's that y'all keep talking about? I feel like I am about to be shot, mentally beaten to a pulp, or made to feel like I need to get out of the house more often very soon...

arty: sears warrantied my sawzall that I beat the everloving piss out of for the last month and a half. Was chopping a jeep up and ran the end of the blade into something really solid, motor just stopped. I think I shattered every gear and probably the magnets in the motor, it wouldn't even make angry noises.

Was chopping a jeep up and ran the end of the blade into something really solid, motor just stopped. nice. i have a floor jack in my barn that i got free with blown seals. i'm going to bring it to a store and pretend it's less than a year old.

haha good luck with that, wouldn't be surprised if it works.

I think I'm gonna thumbtack my PurchaseProtect slip with my receipt to the wall, I know I'm gonna need it again. I am WAY too hard on anything electronic that I can pick up comfortably with one hand...

i have an envelope i keep receipts like that in... REI warrantie's their packs for life. i beat the piss out of one over the course of 6 years or so, brought it back and went home with a brandy new one

I doubt the sawzall will last me more than another 3 months before I'm hauling it in again. I've cut all manner of things up with it, and not very gently either. I'm pretty sure the end of the blade smacking into the inside of frame rails and the sides of u-joints is what did it in, I must test this theory further.

The frame on my 78 F250 is one of the only original pieces left.
