the death of a 1999 HO 4.0

Did you guys drop the oil pan before you took those pictures? Just curious because it looks like the pan was missing a bolt.

Suck that this happened, but you better jump on that motor quick. I've heard at least 3 people talking about getting that same motor but no one has bought it yet apparently. But if you got your 88 to drive why not go ahead and make a 4.7L stroker as the replacement motor.

well i forked over the cash so its mine for sure (as long as the kid doesnt screw me) and i have considered doin a stroker, but its all about money, and i really cant afford to do it(no matter how badly id like to)

i know im goin to clean up the new motor and replace the seals and swap over my intake and other stuff. should have it back on the road by the end of january. i hope.....

Hmmm.....sounds sort of familiar.

I know a guy with a '97 that said "I don't know what happened. It just lost oil pressure and quit." He doesn't seem like the hot rodding type, but you never really know. I checked it over and sure enough, the engine is locked down solid. It's a real shame, too. It only had 126,000 miles on it. No slung rods, though

Strange. With the AW4, if you manually put it in 1-2, it will shift into '2' only at something like 600,000k RPM.

except i have a semi new AX-15 in mine :D but now worris all the same
