I'll say, to be able to launch his fat ass like that, his dad must be Paul Bunyan.
nope, the bionic man

Yeah for some reason a lot of people cannot fathom the concept of body and frame being one piece. I always have people asking me if my cherokee has a body lift or a suspension lift. When I tell them you can't put a body lift on a cherokee they look at me like I'm stupid.

Actually, you'd be wrong.
Both C-rok and Jeepers Creepers, as well as a few others, have body lifts on their XJs.

ACCTUALY!! you could put a non susp lift on a unibody! you can extend the control arm mounts, the coil mounts, the shock mounts, lower the steering box, lower the rear leaf hangers and the mounts for the shackle! GENIUS!!

Hehe, I love these threads, and I'm very glad AMC choosed to leave frames out of the picture when designing the XJ - imagine all the kind of redneck bodylifting we'd see. The first thing I do with a new vehicle, is to lay underneath and study every mechanical part there is to see, for houres, and houres, I for instance noticed they used a panhard bar instead of triangulating the front four-link. :kissyou:

I didnt want a full 3", so I bought a Performance body lift and cut the spacers in half, installed it and trimmed the bolts, cleaned up the threads. I got 1.5" over all lift and looks great!

I cant seam to upload the pictures now, something is wrong with my internet.

well, all of those parts are suspension related.. so try again...

Hey now, I hear thet this hea works dang well fine as shine on them thar XJ thingys, see all them little dots along that there unibodaciousness kinda holin that frame simulator to thet thar body thingy.

Grinds em all off, let some air outa the tares to get that frame thingy down about 3" and slip a 2x4 in between on both sides, air them thar tares back up, say an extry 15psi to make sure thet thar 2x4 is snugged up goodun tiaght twixt the body and frame simulator and sink some combi wood/sheety metal screwmabobs into thet thar biatch

Sorry man, just had to have some fun, good luck with your rig.

Say, while I'm here, anyone got a good discount source for muffler grease?

Can you imagine if he posted this on pirate4x4.com? His skin is obviously not thick enough for the thrashing he would have received there....

lol if he posted that on pirate they would ban him. lol. never to return. but there are really easy ways to lift cheap. if you go over 3 inches you have to start replacing things other that just springs or spacers or shackles. 3 inches is pushing it on stock parts. before you do anything, go outside and take a good look under your jeep. belive me it helps so much. i just only got my first rig a little while ago, and no matter how well ppl explain things to you, you wont get it if you dont know what it looks like. over 3 inches you have to replace lower control arms, steering adjustments, track bar adjustments, brake line adjustments, and you will probly want a slip yoke eliminator so your driveshaft dosnt pop out of your transfer case because of the lift. but there are ways around that. go to rustysoffroad.com. they are cheap, and with their own manufactured parts your getting what you pay for, but their coils, springs, spacers, ect are just as good as anyone elses. for a cheap lift for you, get grand cherokee coils (from the 4.0 grand cherokee. the v8 grand cherokee will have stiffer ones) and longer shackles. you can do add a leaf if your rear suspension is weak becasue they will stiffen it up and lift it. trimming fenders will get you more clearance for bigger tires, but if you get bigger tires get rims with more back spacing. the rear axle wont handle anything over 33 inch tires, but the front will. get 32s to be safe and run 4.10 axle gears. please dont start a new thread on what gears to run
