never mind - torque tube only fits '00+
Rock Krawler has tripple rate springs that prolly would have worked out also. They are for their new JK line up so made for the little extra lbs over a tj/xj also.
Oh and at about 150 a pair not very bad cost wise either. They have a 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 lift which is about 2 up to 5" on a XJ and then even more in your case due to the tube OD and brackets.
Would be interesting to try, but probably not spend money on without good info. The overall length to avoid coil unseating, the need to compress the spring 7" with a 750 lb corner weight, and the desire to sit on 250ish lb springs at ride height are the competing issues and hopefully this is a good solution. We'll find out in a few days. We want the spring to have a slight preload at full droop, and a 750 lb corner weight compressing 7" means a 107 lb primary spring rate, which is pretty soft. The car is sort of tall and stability is important, so we really want the heavier spring rate at ride height. Not easy to come up with a perfect solution. Two coils and a slider allows it all to happen.
what are the extended and collapsed lengths of the deaver coil?
oh no 0 miles per hour at race mile 83!!!!
