I am Rev's Susie and am running for the position of Treasurer.

Many of you know me as Rev's wife, and we have been married for many wonderful years. (25 years on 6-20-2012)

I am the Deposit Services Manager at Lisle Savings Bank, where I have worked for 27 years. I have an Assoc. Arts Degree in Business. While in college I studied advanced accounting.

If elected, I would like to more closely track the chapter finances and keep the BOD updated on our current financial status.

As numbers are my life, I believe I would be an asset as the MWC Treasurer.

So....as you all know I do not endorse any candidate. I will say this, you all know how I spend, Susie has managed to keep me in a house, have a truck, a trailer, and still be able to have food on the table.

Good Luck Susie!

Gotta luv the effort Susie has put into this group. AND the effort she has allowed Rev to invest! No doubt a team effort.

Big 'thanks' Hank

Susie,

What experience do you have with not for profit corporations? Have you ever delt with an NFP account before?

Rev

I have had limited experience with not for profit corps, mainly in assisting my customers needs at the bank I work at. I establish accounts and help my clients with paperwork associated.

I would like to see a statement to the members at least twice a year with the treasurer's report. Which since this term is only through the end of this year, I'd say at least one statement. Is this something that you think you could accomplish?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I feel its a fair question, since Rev is on the BOD and you are married to him, do you think there is any conflict of interest with both of your being on the BOD if elected?

We have discussed this, remember I was on the BOD for two years previously. When it comes to votes etc. we are BOD members not spouses. Believe me, we do not agree on all things and I have my own opinion.

The treasurer's report is a given, in my mind. I was thinking quarterly after this year is finished, even if I am not elected.

I will continue to help with Winterfests and more either way. I've been helping in multiple ways since 2004. Mac, as you know, there is alot of behind the scenes stuff to make Winterfest happen.

Susie

I do and always will appreciate the help with Winterfest. I certainly do understand what it takes to make that event happen.

Thanks for the background on previous BOD experience, I'm sure that there are members that didn't know you were previously on the BOD.

Oh and since this gets asked to everyone running for MWC BOD lately, would you consider a second event? If so, how can we make it happen?

mac 'thanks for the reply' gyvr

A second event is a great idea, but I think it should start as Winterfest did. Group of people wheel in the same place, a few times, get to know the area, and then move forward to an official event. An example, Attica doesn't have all the amenites of home, so sometimes we have to be creative. Also, you need trails that leaders would be familiar with etc. I am in favor of a second event, it just would not happen over night. We also would need some additional people to volunteer, so the same people are not organizing two events.

Susie,

Over the years there has been talk, as minimal as it may have been, of a chapter split due to our vast size and the distance for many of the members to attend events. What are your thoughts or views pertaining to this?

Thanks!

While I do appreciate that some members have a long drive for events, I do not see any other advantages to splitting the chapter. I actually think that the larger number of members is great.
