Surgery sucks...

So I just got shoulder surgery yesterday, oh boy was that fuuuun. Tore both my AC tendons, so my collarbone was protruding underneath my skin, bleh. Not feeling too bad since I have this Q-ball thing that releases pain killer into my shoulder for the next few days. I've got vicodin and Ibuprofin, but the vicodin doesn't really do anything to me :(. So I get to sit here for the next couple days, doing nothing...

I get to have bandages on for the next week for the incision to heal, then after 6 weeks I can start actually moving it again once the tendons and everything heal...

Anyone else having as much fun as I am?

I remember when I got surgery on both my shoulders. Used to swim and play water polo and doing the butterfly stroke made my shoulder muscles ware down and the bone start to rub on eachother. THAT was not fun. I feel for you dude. But in the long run, its better. Good luck :) Feel better

Yep - no fun at all.

Right knee ACL total replacement, nearly full meniscus tear that had to be sutured. I was off my feet for 6 friggin weeks not allowed to weight-bear on it, then another 4 months of laying around the house slowly weening my self off the crutches until I could walk, then did the rehab exercises. Got cleared for light-duty (desk) work for the last 2 months of the whole 6 month ordeal. It was unreal how quickly my leg muscles atrophied and how long it took to get it built back up. It's still visibly smaller than my left leg.

Best of luck with your healing process!

Yup 5 years ago now for me but I had a bad shoulder dislocation that ended with the head of my humerus being on top of my scapula. Ripped a lot of stuff in there. I've got the zipper scar in the front and a handful of shorter ones in the back. I was up and doing stupid things again in 4-5 months, it's amazing what they can do anymore.

Only vicoden and ibuprophen! I started off with percoset and it worked but I was useless on it. During the times I was coherent enough to realize that eating was a good thing I decided to switch to vicoden. Good luck and speedy recovery!

Right ankle reconstruction, Chrisman-Snook procedure. Recovery was a lot like YELLA's. Six weeks on the couch and a total of 6 months on crutches. The 90-minute outpatient surgery ended up taking almost 5 hours. Got to spend the night in the hospital with the morphene button. Didn't do much for the pain, but knocked me the fawk out. I blame the military for my resistance to pain killers. They just don't do me much if any good at all.

ive got a "robot" ankle....plates pins screws rope and a dead guys ligaments.....lol...

it sucks but when your back on the grind youll be happy and a lot more motivated

I think all the ligaments are mine, they've just been rearranged. Got a couple anchors on either side of the tunnel they drilled through. Ankle's strong as hell now. My knee will probably go before my ankle does. Hated going thru the whole thing, but glad I did.
