So in the 6 years my 2001 XJ has been sitting since I started a 4.2L mini-stroker build, the fuel pump has seized up and died... verified all electrical is good and 12.5v+ is reaching the green/white wire at the fuel pump connector near the tank.
Unfortunately, complete Bosch sending units are no longer available, and the next-best option (Delphi) is apparently garbage like the rest of the pumps on the market.
Does anyone know what model Bosch pump is used in the 2001 XJ's sending unit (assuming all 97+) so I can possibly just replace it? Alternatively, is there a higher-quality pump I should consider given that I've installed a stroker? It's a relatively mild build (expecting no more than ~250 HP) so from my understanding the stock pump is more than adequate, but I'd really rather not install a sh*t pump and have to drop the tank within the year.
I've tried to resuscitate the pump by sending it ~20v from an M18 battery as a last resort, with no success. Once the pump is pulled from the sending unit I may try soaking it in Sea Foam and gasoline for a couple days to see if it's simply seized from varnish, but we shall see.
