Superstition trails.

I was chuckling (old person laugh) when reading that Superstition doesn't have any good 4X trails.
Yes it does, and some real nasty ones as well.

Maybe its time for a Chapter run out there.

Rick

Date and time?

It has to be cooler than 80*

OK! Back on topic. Totally down for a Supersittion Run.

When are we going? :D Moab the second week next month of October and Rockin Jambo is the third full week in November. So either between there, or after both (if any of our rigs are still in one piece).
I say after both. Theres alot of stuff i have to do my jeep. I cant work on my jeep for about week, sence im in a leg cast right now. Any takers?

A couple of years back at TDS i attended a run over to Superstition with about 30 other rigs. There is definately some fun stuff out there. Not sure of the name of the trail that we did, but the entrance was kind of hidden. It was a winding narrow rocky canyon that went up hill ending up on a plateau. Got pretty steep and loose towards the end.
Just near there was a big sand dune hill and another sand filled canyon we messed around in.
I'd like to go back for sure.

You're riding bitch at moab, remember. :)

What all skid plates do I need?

Just get some rocker protection from someplace like AJ's offroad armor or similar. Lots of folks running his super rails, they come unpainted and the price is better than the others.

i did sidewinder with no bypasses and no rock rails and never got stuck, in my stock XJ. same goes for going to the top of bronco, but again it was the easier way from the gravel parking lot and not the campground. i went early last month

Well props to the size of your balls. Glad to hear it.

Just trying to look out for peoples rocker panels. There's one or two spots on sidewinder I wouldn't do in a stock Jeep without rails. Some people turn into whiney little bitches when there rockers get dented, MARK :D. It looks like you have a good set of ATs and that helps.

Double props on doing the escalator (and not the bypass) on the east side of bronco, It looks like you're having a good time, and that's all that matters:

I just like the doors to open, besides driving around with different colored doors is just ghey. :)

Yeah, stock rigs can take the bypass.

So Rockin Jambo is 11/22, the week after that is Thanksgiving, and that Sat I'm busy. How about the weekend after that.

That's the first weekend in December. Sat 12/06/08 ?

That's pretty far out, but I think we can plan it. This is for Superstition right? No looking cool on sand dam, find the trails.

There's 5 weekends between Moab and JV. How about the first weekend in November? I barely use a 1/4 tank of gas for a Corral run I'm so darn close. :)

12/6/08 Sounds good

Bump!

We are still on for this one next (not this) Saturday.

Here are Directions to Superstition (from Kevin),

32.768451,-115.80045 (WGS84) dunaway, exit off of the 8 go north 1.5 miles

32.790971,-115.80085 (WGS84) turn right here onto evan hughes go east 4.3 miles

32.791116,-115.72673 (WGS84) turn left here onto huff go north approx
6.4 miles until you hit wheeler road. Wheeler is all dirt.

32.881266, -115.718516(WGS84) Turn left here onto Wheeler follow
wheeler for 6 miles of dirt road. Just stay on wheeler until you see
the campsite off to the right side.

32.91321,-115.80153 (WGS84) This is the campsite where I was thinking,
its on the right side of the road, the dust isnt too bad, and there
are little hills that kids can play on without being far from camp.

BTW, there are plans to find the HARD trails. Which min requirement is 1 locker and 33's according to someone who has done (and knows where) the hard trails are.

There is plenty of easier stuff to do out there though.

Yep this is on.. Im leaving dec 5th friday after work. will get out there before 9pm

If you were wondering where this is, its just before El Centro and near Plaster City down north of the 8.

Bring the family, lots of families are going.

Young punk kids who drink too much and make loud noise are also welcome.

I hope to find some of the runs I did years ago with SD4wheelers.

Anyone can call me if any questions.
