Super 30 or build a 44?

I've broken three D-30 disconnect shafts at the carrier, and seen many more.

Non-disco's will blow the joint before they break the shaft.

I to, however, do not see the point of a Super 30. I gave Hinkleberry crap about his the first time I saw it, and he told me how great it was gonna be. Lot's of clearance blah, blah, blah.

Once again, i was right.

Dont tempt me I bet I could get it to go for at least 20 pages. I can put that 35s and 3.55s thread to shame.

The dana 30 axle is the best axle ever to be built I would rather run it then a dana 60. It is so strong I have run it with 40 inch tall tires stock from the factory and so have all my friends. There is no better axle to run in a cherokee than a Dana 30

Hey now thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard putting a 30 in the rear that is inpossible nobody could ever do that the spring perches dont line up. Plus why would anyone want rear steer :wstupid:. For the rear the to best axles are the Dana 35 and Chry 8.25 27 spline The factory axles are the only axles and there is absultley no reason to alter a jeep it is the best straight from the factory.

See nobody is responding because they all know I am right and there are no to ways about it everything I say it 100% true and correct.

what exactly is the point of the 30 spline D30 kit!?!!? have you ever seen a D30 shaft break at the splines? I have never seen it first hand, or even seen it on the net? Billavista had a big thread going on Pirate for people to post pictures of their axle breaks, i didn't see one of a D30 broken at the splines. it does nothing to increase the strength of the u-joint, which is the weak link.

I've seen plenty of D30 shafts break at the splines, but they have all been disconnect axles at the carrier.....just like CRASH said. If you're going to run a built D30, it has to have chrmo axles, and if you're starting from scratch it isn't much more to get the 30 spline stuff rather than the 27 spline stuff. Also, if you're going to run chrmo axles, you need the 30 spline stub axle upgrade (either Warn or Superior), so if you're going to have 30 spline outers you might as well have 30 spline inners. This pretty much guarantees that you've moved the weak link to the ring and pinion (if you have CTM's, and maybe Longfield's), but usually the ring and pinion get chipped teeth and you can still get off the trail.....and at least you won't break an axle. :) Of course, the 27 spline chrmo axles are pretty tough.

When comparing a built D30 to a D44, you have to include the cost of chrmo axles on the D44. I'd rather have a D30 with chrmo axles than a D44 with Spicer axles. Spicer axles just don't hold up to hard use, even with 33" tires. The biggest benefit of chrmo axles is the toughness of the yokes around the u-joints, which is where the Spicer axles usually break.

:peace:

Ok... so you didnt start it. But that thread is yours.

but back to tech.

The 44 has many advantages over the 30. Most have been clearly stated. It is the best bang for your buck. End of story really.

Just because things have been stated doesnt mean that they are correct you are incorrect in every way shape and form because I cannot be wrong everything I say is correct unless someone can prove me wrong by coming here and running a trail with next tuesday.

You and Hinkley ought to get together for a group buy for Hooked-on-Phonics.

You're both equally unintelligible, but at least you spell better.

Meet Mr. Period. This is what he looks like ( . ).

See when people cant come up with good reason of why what I am saying is wrong they try to seem inteligent by correcting me for puncuation and spelling. This therefor is another good reason to belive me and not anyone else.
