Suggestion: Top 10 search list

I've been noticing that subject are getting very repetitive on the boards these days. I'm thinking that we need a top ten search list that only goes back about 2 months. That way the list of topics isn't incredibly long and before someone posts a multiple topic they get get instant search gradification.

I know the search works, but some of the new users are search impaired and need some help.

What do you guys think?

sounds like a cool idea, I fully support it.

maybe a stickied thread that says Top 10 and under it what we think are the 10 most asked questions with links to searches, sayy maybe 3 searches for each question) to answers about the top 10 most asked questions

Not likely to happen. If I understand your suggestion, you are thinking of the top ten most suggested/searched/discussed items etc... It would require extensive hacking, otherwise it would be pulling up results from the variety of forums.

Doing it manualy, that solves the coding problem. However, then you will get folks that post a reply that gives a rude "LOOK AT THE STICKIE... your question has already been asked!"

Besides, the Search does work. If somebody does not use the search to find an answer, they are unlikely to look at a stickie post too. Also, there is a very cool feature "Similar Threads" that is compiled automatically by the search. The data is all at a persons finger tips.....

Your preaching to the choir, the search does work! AMEN! Nothing like the old board.

Well it's too bad there is too much code involved. I guess I'll ahve to take up my "Do a Search" bandwagon again. I also add "Similar Threads" to my arsenal as well.
