Strange Silence

There are christian religious extremists too?
Yes.
I don't know, maybe it's a huge Christian/governmental conspiracy to keep the bearded man down?
Lol

You don't appear to understand fullfilment of the Law of Moses (Old Testament/Torah/ Quran) through Jesus Christ, or what constitutes true Christianity.

If you did, I dare say you wouldn't be so quick to react with such disrespectful bias.

You are blind if you think the bible doesn't teach people to kill for god. An extremist doesn't have you fit your vision of a Christian only their own.

17:11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
17:12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
17:13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
17:14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
17:15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:
17:16 For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

23:24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
23:27 I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.

23:32 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

No one has ever been able to answer this thought for me.

Why do Christians even bother with the Old Testament of the Bible? Isn't Christianity the following of Jesus Christ's teachings? So even if you believe in the Trinity, isn't the teaching's of God made man more important than the teachings of the Old Testament?

I think many of you have forgotten the fact that religion has started more wars, and killed more people than any other cause in history. Be it muslim, christian, jew etc...
And no, I don't have a link providing that info. Look it up yourself.
And as an atheist, I don't care which religion I disrespect. They are all the same to me. Fairy tales.

You can not argue this point with this man. It just will not work. It seems to be his position that facts are to be bent around beliefs.
(oh am I going to get an ear full for that one!)

But seriously XJeeper, at least try to have a some what open mind. :peace:

The Mosaic/Levitical law has been fulfilled by Christ's death on the cross. Why worry about Old Testament? A lot of it is a history of the Jews, a means of showing us where we all fall short of God's example and the law, and therefore cannot earn salvation through any means of our own, plus there's a lot of prophecy, some of it fulfilled already, some of it pointing to Christ and giving the Jews the signs to look for (which they ignored), some of the prophecy ties in with Revelation. It is all good info to have and to pay attention to as it gives an insight into the character of God.

The meaning of the word Christian means to be a follower of Christ. If you read the Gospels, and study Christ's life and actions, you'll see a very big disconnect between this Norwegian guy and Christ.

About the quote regarding being put to death for defiling the Sabbath; Adam and Eve were told that if they ate of the forbidden tree, they would surely die. Did they die upon eating? No, but they died spiritually, hence the term "reborn", to be born again, you become alive spiritually.

Once again, you don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion.........

I love it! blame the Norse religion you exterminated and labeled "mythology".

PS: The Masons accept all religions there are many Christians in their brotherhood. It is not a religion in itself but requires members to believe in a faith. IE you cannot be athiest/agnostic.

This guy should probably read something.

Just adds to it's not about what you view as Christian.

Like a1bandit, 420, or any of the other religion is fairy tale types? We each have our beliefs and we operate accordingly. What kind of an atheist would believe that there may be a God? What kind of Christian/Muslim/Jew would believe that maybe God is just an illogical construct of superstitious man? Open-mindedness isn't always all it's cracked up to be.

So since he's follower of Christ he's Christian, glad you came to solve this conundrum.

Just because he doesn't do it to your standard doesn't mean he isn't.

Like a1bandit,

It's actually an I. It stands for American Insurgent.

People usually think my name is AL :D that's why I put the AI below my name.

Now just consider what you have posted their. Like really go back and read that to yourself. Honestly, I go to church nearly every Sunday, and this just seems like a mindset that is logically unsound.

Being open minded does not mean you have to flip flop your religious views every other day, or attempt to hold two conflicting religious views at the same time. It simply means to consider them.

Dang I got caught up on the 1.

Why did you have to go and stick me with 420, that's not very nice. And here I thought I was the only one that was so quick to judge.

I never said religion is a fairly tale, and why would I that's not what I believe.

Nowhere did I make such a claim; only that Christ (New Testament) came to fulfill the Law of Moses (Old Testament/Torah/Quran).

The rest of it you'll need to research & pray about...
