Stolen GPS

Hey guys and gals, my Cherokee was broken into last Friday night in the parking structure by the 24 Hour Fitness and my GPS was stolen from the console. Now, I have no GPS and have to pay to fix the lock and door on my XJ. If you happen to be looking for a GPS, please keep your eyes out. It's a Magellan Roadmate 1200. Not sure how to insert an image, sorry, otherwise, I would. Thank you.

We've seen alot of this kind of stuff in Temecula. I don't know exactly where these things are going but my best guess is craigslist. You need to make a report with your police department and make sure you provide the serial # for the unit. That way the unit will be entered in the stolen property system and maybe someone will report it if it is sold. Next you need to follow the good advice that everyone knows but fails to follow: don't leave your stuff in plain sight in your vehicle.

Which 24 hour fitness? Brookhurst?

Also, did you drive in with it in the window and then put it away? By then it is too late. I always tell my wife shit when she says "pop the trunk" so she can put her purse back there while going in the store. Hope you get it back. I would search craigslist for sure.

dude that sucks.... SO your still in garden grove huh? You broke my wifes heart, by the way...

I hate theifs

yeah tell me about it, hollywood just had his truck broken into sunday night and his GPS was stolen too. man i'd like to catch this guy. if i dont post up in awile you know i caught him and am probably on a mini vaca. :twak:

I've lost two GPS units and a camera this year. One was "my fault" I guess (:twak: damn thieves, nonetheless) as I left it on the windshield. The other, and my camera, were locked in my glove compartment. They simply broke the latch. I was parked in my driveway behind my house.

chances are you will NOT catch him. When I went to cypress college, I caught a guy snooping my olds achiva. Had a pretty nice stiero system in it. He was pulling on the door handles and checking the trunk. I threw my back pack at him. And he took off running. I started parking in a lot across campus. I hate people that think whats others is theirs for the taking. >.<

OH i have an idea who it is, its just the mater of getting the timing right. i work mostly nights and never come home at the same time, its been happening for a while so i've had time to plan.. besides i really could use a vacation. I will catch him sooner or later. hopefully before i run out of things to give him.

People will steal anything, anywhere. A guy climbed up and stole my mtn bike off my 2nd floor apt. patio in broad daylight when my wife and kids were home.

It was the 24 Hour Fitness in HB at the Bella Terra. It actually wasn't on my window, it was in the console. Beware, cause I read something recently that stated that thieves target cars in gym parking lots cause people tend to leave their wallets and phones in their cars when they work out. Anyway, I'm checkin Craigslist and I'm looking at one today, same model as mine was, and we'll see if this is the same. I already have a police report. Robert, broke her heart? How, may I ask? I had to leave that place, just not a positive place to work, regardless of the pay. Especially as a Christian that I am, I couldn't work there anymore. No amount of money would have made a difference. Regardless, I hope you and the wife are doing well and congrats on having a child.

PM'd ya.

But I Fully agree about the money. We are there now but economy dictates to us a bit more then to you or did to you back then. And thank you, Wyatt is a blast...

"really officer, he tripped over every parking block in the parking lot trying to run away" :D
Exactly....... except i was thinking about handling the prob in the driveway and then dragging his ass into the house.

He was just kidding folks, we would never take the law into our own hands...:anon:

On a side note this is the second time my truck has been broke into, and they stole my tire deflators again. I get the GPS, its shiny and lights up, but why do they keep taking my tire deflators? As if the jackasses would have any use for them much less even know what they are.

They're making Sneak-a-Toke's out of them...

Yeah, but if your tires start smoking on a trail obstacle...you might be stuck in a rut...:greensmok
