Stethoscope

I'm thinking about getting a stethoscope to use to try to isolate all the little clicks, chirps, clunks, screeches, etc...
However, I have never seen one for an auto application before. What types are there? Any recommendations? Are there some to avoid?

Some of the sounds only happen when I'm moving. Is there a type availble that can be used while moving?

Check out a good auto parts place. There is (or at least there used to be) such a thing as an automotive stethoscope, with a probe to reach into deeper areas.

Otherwise, I'd recommend a bell-type scope, not the kind with a flat diaphragm such as those used on blood pressure kits.

Much of the time you can just use a length of hose stuck in one ear.

Yeah, get the JC Witless model. It works and it's cheap.
