Stepping up to a 'REAL' tow rig

Nice truck, I've been saving up my pennies to get a diesel but hasn't quite happened yet. Getting closer though.

I saved up enough to put a little down. Not enough to make the payment any fun, but I got tired of saving and looking. Found a good deal and bought it....

Oh, did I post anywhere on here that this thing came with a Cummins Exhaust Brake already installed on it...

6.7l ISB? IIRC, not really a true exhaust brake, it messes with the vanes on the variable vane turbo. Accomplishes the same thing, though.

Actually the only prob with the 6.0 was if it was in an International chassis. They are built by them ya know, but I.H. put all the gear driven shit in the rear, while Ford put the (power steering pump) in the front. I.H. 6.0.'s have all been recalled for gear changes, ford, no probs.
Not completely true, but close....

speaking for him, its a 5.9...........6.7 was out in 06 "I THINK" if you got a cab and chassis or bedless truck.

should be the 5.9 with the butterfly in the exhaust pipe for the brake.

6.7l ISB was introducted for the 2007 model year. I didn't think it was available in any other model, hence my question. According to the Dodge website, the 6.7l is available in the MegaCab.

I also suspect that it's actually a Jacobs exhaust brake. I don't see an exhaust brake listed as an option, and Cummins themselves offer the Jacobs for non-Dodge applications.

Eh, no matter. Butterfly valve in the exhaust.

It is the 5.9 as Gene stated.

The controller on the auto shifter in the cab has the big "C" on it...so I guess I just assumed. Its definately the butterfly valve. But I haven't found any paperwork on it as of yet.

It works really well. I towed my jeep to thee other side of town last week prior to getting the brake controller wired up in the truck. I just used the exhaust brake to assist with stopping w/o trailer brakes and it worked better than stopping with the van and trailer brakes. I'm so ready for the moutains!!
