so ive been hearing some good and bad about jcr and currie steering i just want some input on what people run and how they like it
i was thinking about going with jcr but i heard that there steering bushings have alot of bumpsteer currie is pricey
anyone run and other steering
i will be doing some mild rock crawling and go fast if that helps any

Im not sure what you have researched already but the problem with an Inverted T set up like that (and I run the same set up) is bump steer and sloppiness. The set up also tends to "roll" due to how its set up. this creates the sloppiness. If you look at a WJ set up, it uses different knuckles and a crossover steering set up. This is where the TREs dont actually go into each other on the drag link. The drag link goes to a separate ear on knuckle and the tie rod is on its own.

The WJ set up is a common set up and is a great upgrade if you are looking to do it. It just requires a change of knuckles and the correct steering linkages

im running the ballistic steering kit. works great so far. i DD my jeep as well.

X2, can't beat the price for 1 ton strength. If you go OTK make sure to use a TRE bushing on the passenger side or else it could feel a little sloppy.

The best advice is to not do any kind of inverted T steering unless you have a D44 or D60 with high steer arms. OTK with D30 style arms leaves too much angle on the drag link for any kind of inverted T to be worth a damn. Too much angle means the tie rod rolls and makes a dead spot, not exactly what you want on a pre-runner style rig, or any rig for that matter. The poly spacers that are offered for the TRE's are poor and unreliable bandaids for the bad design.

I also run the Currie on mine and have zero complaints. I'm @ 6.5" and it works fine in the rocks and on the road.

i have otk inverted T on a dana44 without tie rod roll

never run more than 4.5" of lift on it though

does it work? yes

are there better setups out there? yes

Here's what I did with 3/4" heims. Not jeepspeed legal but it should be strong and if I were going to abuse it I would double shear the knuckles and the pitman.

How is the handling with crossover + heims? Noticably more responsive than stock setup? What did you run before?

Last time i looked at the rules a few years ago I thought it said steering to remain of stock style setup. Guess that's why I'm a truck guy... Easy rules to remember.

Made it. All I did was use four 3/4" hiems and some 1.25x.120 tubing. The trak bar is a rubicon express extreme duty with the extreme duty upper mount then I cut the bottom and used another 3/4 heim and the ballistic over the axle trakbar mount. Just drill the taper out of the knuckles so they can fit a 5/8" bolt.
