Because I am on a quest to someday become a Tinbender, I started my Dana 60 project.

Got the truss work done with thanks to Troy (steagal9301). His rear truss work on his Dana 35 was so inspirational I wanted to have the same beef on my front axle. He incorporated the control arm mounts into the truss design. Check out the beef!

Please forgive the pics as my wife had my camera last night and I had to use my phone.

New axle:

This was my inspiration:

This will match my rear axle well!

More pics soon to come.

Please delete this now. The Tin Benders (:worship:) own the Hammers, their name should not be used at the tail end of any joke.

Shame on you Avery:moon:

Ummmm...you know that Troy didn't build the truss work on the 35?
He found a rolled truck out in the Dez and took all the cool stuff off of it before I could get there.....or so I am told :D

i cant take all the credit...........just the better part of it :laugh3:

besides, the pre runner axle design is for the race to the trail and it gives you a level of grind protection for the axle tube that top only trusses do not!

Its certainly interesting, no one ever said good things have to be pretty....Whats the wms" gonna be?

I'm at a loss..........

What possible reason does one need to truss a 60 when all that's going on top of it is an XJ? That top truss looks like it'll cave in the engine oilpan over the first speed bump.

Sorry, but it looks like you built a radio antenna tower around it.....

:dunno:

Got a chance to see it this weekend!
:confused1
blew a stub and the hubs survived!

a little larger than id like, but I run a 44 on 33's, so ground clearance isnt really an issue anyhow...
:confused1

Needs more triangulation.

Starting to think it might be the fuel pump. Finally put in half a tank of gas and it doesnt seem to do it anymore.

Scrappy you called it. I was

I was at Currie a couple of weeks ago in the back and a couple of the sales guys and I were laughing on how ridiculous the thing was. It was going onto a solid axle conversion for a Chevy 3500HD that was to be running 49s. Got to love the Orange County. I just had to tak a pic of it ;)
