I just started my 4.7L stroker build today for my 2000XJ. The build is composed of a bunch of parts, the main ones and machined block that I got from Russ Pottinger, including a Scat stroker crank, a ported Edelbrock aluminum head, custom pistons made for Russ Pottinger that match the Edelbrock combustion chamber, ported intake, connecting rods, HS Roller Rockers etc. Special thanks to Cal and Mark who are helping with this build. This is my first engine build, and it is great to have fellow
members that I can learn from!
Laying out the rods and pistons - and putting them together
Getting the rings installed -and checking the piston position with the combustion chamber of the head
Cal showing me how to install the piston correctly and then test the clearance of the rod bearings
Installing the pistons - you can see how the kidney shape of the piston is directional based on the combustion chamber shape for each piston position.
Pistons and rods are all assembled in the block - that was it for the day, I made some good progress for it being my first time doing any of it!
