Spring Wrenchfest

I can help you with joints.

Don't take this out of context lol...

I'll bring both sets of tools :dunno: although I'm sure Ed's AC unit is good for a little while ;)

I'm gonna head up to Ed's tomorrow and do some preliminary clean up work and scrap haul off. Every penny counts towards MOAB!!!!

Trees cleared, weed eating done.....Man it was hot today!! No scrap hauled off but that'll happen next Friday.

We did get 16 old tires hauled off. Brush piled and the yard mowed.

Mark worked his butt off today. Thanks bud.

This time next week I'll have brake lines that don't double as limiting straps!!!!

I'll be there Saturday probably around 8 or 8:30. I'll lend a hand where needed and if I get a little bored I may cut and fold my quarter panels. I'm doing the oil change before Saturday. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Do I need to buy the torx bits for the UCA's on my rig, or does somebody have some? I'd hate to get all the way there and not be able to get my axle in....

Do you know what size they are? I'll check. I have a few torx sockets. If you can confirm what size you need I'll bring it if I have it.

I have 2 sets of the torx sockets. The only deal is if we bust them, I get new ones.

T50 is the size. I'll buy one, and if it breaks, you can have it, lol. I've already started soaking everything in PB every night. It should be gravy. Thanks for having us out to your place for this, Ed. I think by the end of the day we'll all be ready for a trail ride!

I recommend an angle grinder for the control arm Torx bolts then replacing them with hex head bolts. I broke and stripped so many of those that have seized some how.

I can do that, too... I plan to keep the stock uppers, and I have some home built fixed lowers. I don't plan to lift any higher, or go bigger than 33" tires...

Getting my trailer lined up to haul the rear axle up. Also got my lube locker in for the c8.25 (already have one for the d30 :) ). I'm also going to throw my frame stiffeners in the back, so if we have time and a welder on hand, maybe I can get those on too....gotta get those on sometime so I can put my rock sliders on...

Frame stiffeners take some time to do... And lots of grinding/prep involved. Bring "flappy" discs to remove paint and undercoat, seems to work best. With Tyler's help, we spent a solid half day or more doing a full set on mine front to rear, plus paint time.

Anybody need something hauled Chattanooga to Ed's, or back?

Gotcha. It was a sort of after thought. All I have is mids from HD. I have primed them already, I just need to do the unibody part (I know...the longest and hardest part). As long as I remember to get the wheel, I'll bring'em along just in case. Where's a good place to get the wheels?

I got a nice stock of flappies for $5 at harbor freight....

There is a Harbor Freight in Antioch at the Bell Rd. exit.

You can get flap discs at any of the places you listed.

Thanks Ed, I didnt know there was one in Nashville. If I have time this week, Ill make the drive up and see what I can find. If not, Ill check out Lowes/HD/Ace and see what I can find. How many do I need, roughly?
