Thanks to all for the comment. I would not fab up a 3 link from there, the pan and the belly plate are removable for winter, and the same will be for the slider. During winter I remove those plates and put on some ugly but effective snow tire in 235-75 r15. No need for skids in snow banks !

The skid is almost done
I decided to double the area up front where the yoke is, I don't want this part to fold and damage the driveshaft, so I took out the welder and I did this.
I did not weld since last September, so forgive my less-than-perfect welds..
Next I opened up the corner holes a bit, so mud and water can go out easily
And I set-up the whole thing for paint. I decided to leave the rear corner as it is. The loss of ground clearance will be ofset by the shape of the skid. I'll change it later if this becomes a problem.

Well done... I was thinking of just adding a 2" or 3" wide strap along the bottom of the diff. just to act as a skid of sorts...
How much clearance do you think you lost ??

The bottom of the skid is 8 3/4 from the ground (33 inches tire). However if I get on a rock or stump higher than this I,ll just slide over it.

Nice work! Its amazing what you can do when you dont have the money to buy the pre made stuff. A little flat steel, and some talent will take you a long ways. Just one suggestion though...If I were you, I would paint the rocker panels between the flares satin black to kind hide the fact that the flares dont go all the way down... and do the same to the rear bumper to match the color of the front. Would look mich nicer in my opinion. Great work...Keep it up!

I know you haven't posted on here in quite a long time, just wanted to say that your build is super inspiring. I'm going with a similar LCoG setup. I'm running the new BW flat flares instead but still similar. Hope after school I can acquire some tools and start fabricating my own parts. Again, great work and keep it up!
