no, you want one with a 4.0 91 and up have the chrysler electronics which are less complicated and cleaner. 87-90 are renix controled and are good also. If you find a 87 with a tow package chances are good it would have a 44 in the rear.
just noticed you said v8 if its right it was swapped in make sure it not a hokey setup.
V8? If so than it's been swapped in. I've always liked to find a nice well kept stock rig & do the mods myself so I knew they were done right. Go over it with a fine toothed comb & know what you're getting into before you jump. Earlier than 87 were the trashy v6 & 4 poppers. I wouldn't look at anything older than 87 (start of the straight six & AW-4 auto's in XJ's). If it has ABS brakes than walk away from the deal also. You don't want a rig with ABS before 91. 91 & up rigs with ABS can be bypassed easily.
