Well... now matter how much I tell myself I am "done" wheeling till the con' in june, i cant handle not going everyday!

Who can go saturday? I got a new spot I just found out about. Its in the same shaver area, but lower in elevation supposedly. called Blue Canyon i think. I got directions, but need a few people to come with me.

Who is going with me!?

You should come to my house sunday and slap that lift in!
I will be under my XJ all day, your welcome to come by and wrench on yours!

Sorry, have wedding plans. Lets go again next weekend...and you know you'll be wheeling before June, so quit fighting it, its like 3 months away, gosh!

But just in case where is this place? I might be looking for somthing to do on Thursday.

This place is SUPPOSEDLY at the top of the 4 lanes.

If you take 168 up the 4lanes, turn right on Tollhouse Rd at the very top of the 4lanes. Then I guess its either your first Left, or Blue Canyon Rd. You take that until it dead ends, and well I guess you are there.

It looks like I may be going to Lettermans this weekend instead. I would love to have the lift on before FrankRaines.

What about anti-snow? I am thinking about going to Coalinga next weekend and check out Pichacho Peak in the Clear Creek Management Area. My little trail books says it is a difficult trail. I called the Hollister BLM and it is open today, so unless we get loads of rain it should be open next week. I want to go check it out. I think that is where they have the Molina Ghost Run. Anyone been there? If so is it worth the trip?

What day do have off during the week?

This sounds like fun.

All day Thursday. I dont really know what to expect, but from the pictures in my trusty trail book, it looks like there are a few decent rock gardens and a lot of steep hills. I am sure there is some mud holes with as much rain as we've had lately. Can you get Thursday off?

Anyone else able to take a whole thursday off?

Sounds like Ben and I are doing something, yet have no idea what. Who else is down that has a reliable rig?

So what do you think?

1. La Panza OHV: Just outside of Pozo and a little east of Shandon. Been there done that. Its ok some pucker spots, should be fun after this next rain.

2. Shaver area, maybe Bald Mtn. again? Or that one road?

3. Pichacho Peak: Clear Creek Management Area, west of Coalinga. I dont know what to expect, but there is 50,000 acres of land and loads of mining trails.

4. Hollister Hills

The last two are governed by the Hollister BLM, so I am sure if one is closed due to wet conditions the other might be as well. Won't know until the day of.

Pismo?

Well... It looks like the following saturday i am headed to the snow to go wheeling. So.... how about either Hollister, Pismo, Pozo, Colinga.

We can do a Pozo/Pismo day. Or explore Colinga.

With this much rain, I doubt Hollister, La Panza, or Clear Creek will be open. I dont like messing up dirt roads anyway. But we will have to see though.

Matt,

Did you get around to putting on your lift last weekend? If you didnt, do you want to do it Thursday? I am game for that if the weather doesnt fall through.

I wound up unable to get over to Lettermans to do it. I wont have the lift until after FrankRaines.

I say thursday we go to kings canyon national park or yosimite. Do a low key thing but see some GREAT stuff.

To get to Blue Canyon turn right on Tollhouse at the top of the 4 lanes like you said. Take that road down about 1-2 miles to Petersen Rd. and turn left. There is a USFS Fire Station on the North-East corner. This is a single lane road with blind corners so be careful. Take this back for a while and you'll come to a Y, take it to the left and you have roads for days. There is one that leads back up the hill to just below the town of Shaver, one will lead to Dinkey Creek Rd. and comes out across from Rock Creek Rd. (the one we use to go to bald), and another road will lead you down to Pine Flat Lake. Have fun, its beautiful with the snow if it gets down that low, which I think it has.

I think we are going to bald on Fri. if you want to go.

Clear Creek is closed. We are going to do Friday instead of Thursday, because my fiance has Friday off and can come. Im down to do Bald Mtn. again. What time you all meeting up? Meet at the trail head?
