Just carry a big flexible section of accordion hose, and when ya come to a river, plug it into the end of an air tube, run it to the roof and zip tie it..

I mean, If the only reason you want one is for "insurance"...

Like having snow tire chains in Arizona...

The space on an XJ is limited, but you might make something like this work...

Now THAT is more my speed. Would love to set something like that up. Any idea on part numbers and/or donors?

Hey, if a used snorkel fell in my lap for a cheap I'd bolt it on no worries. I sure as he!! wouldn't pay retail for one though.

It's not necessary to have water over the hood to hydrolock an engine. I didn't stop in the water holes I've been in to take pictures...I was too busy driving through them. Why would I stop, get out of the jeep, let water fill in the whole interior and ruin any electronics that I have left? To stop and take a picture is the biggest poser of them all. To plan ahead and have someone standing there ready to take a picture is even more of a poser. I dont' go wheelin to take pictures to make people think I'm tough...I go wheelin to make it through tough obstacles while others get stuck and blow engines. I have proof enough that snorkels work...Me=0 blown engines...Friends=3.

Very well spoken. I am with you here. If you stop, get out, get a pic to say, "See!! I'm a big boy in a water hole!" then, yeah, poser. I think, if you know how your rig works, and can work on it, and, use it for what it's made for, you're not a poser. So, since I have FarmerMatt's taillights, but, i don't go rock crawling, i am a poser there too? I mean, really, why would I need steel taillight housings? Hmm, maybe because i've busted out 3 taillights on trees! Living in FL provides wheeling different from everywhere else. Beezil, come on down and go wheeling with us here in FL. Then, i will be ok with you calling me a poser if you can stay with me through the trails we run
