There was a lot of snow in the forest a week ago. Hiking trails near 80 at Donner pass are completely covered in snow.

Friends reported water in Utica was pretty cold and there were snow patches everywhere, but they were able to get to the lake, so I do not know. Probably not so much snow at that elevation after all.

oh i meant i was gonna run it this friday...

quite a few guys from our club are heading up today and through the weekend.I was up there last weekend and talked to some guys that ran the trail. They couldnt get past the water crossing from the Utica side after the ladder, too deep and they where on 37 and 38 inch tires. Still LOTS of snow on the Lake Alpine side.

thats good to know. im only on 35s and the other jeep is on 31s(locked up tho) so i guess we play the waiting game for another weekend?
