Skyjacker 6" Value Flex System

Before the :flame: starts: I have gone through 34 pages of searching and have had my eye on it since I bought my first XJ a few years ago and seen everyone saying good and bad things mostly about price and joints.
I do some really light to easy trail riding, mud, no rocks and a lot of daily driving.

For starters, my XJ is mainly DD/MallCrawler/Show Vehicle. I recently had a Superlift 4" lift on my 97 2 door before trading it in for a 99 4 door, and I loved the look of 4" and 31" tires. But have decided to go a little bit bigger with my newer XJ and was planning on anywhere from 4.5"-6.5" with Rough Country and RE in mind. So today I went to my local accessories store and was getting prices on lifts in the 4-6" range and he pulled up the Skyjacker 6" Value Flex System with Nitro Shocks and 3 piece sub-frame assembly compatible with Dana 44 front ends and the list price on it was $2265.98. However, with a little help from them being authorized dealers and what not I can walk away with this kit for only $1219.87 tax included and no shipping since its local!

Now for the questions:
Do I NEED a D44 front end or is it just "compatible" with a D44?
How many people are running this kit and like it?
What's the best SYE and CV Driveshaft combo for this kit - Skyjacker - Woods - any available?

Any other comments or suggestions are welcome, but please no flaming!
Thanks

Justin

The Rough Country 6.5" is my 2nd choice actually. Almost got that one for my first XJ but got a smokin deal on the Superlift so I got that instead. And I know Rubicon Express is almost unbeatable when it comes to the quality of their lifts. So its just down to the main decision on how many good points get brought up about the Skyjacker lift, then what I really want for lift height.

Good luck, you will get all kinds of bs about lifts.. We have the ones who love RC and hate RE.. Then the other side is they hate RC and love RE.. Like i said, good luck

He was asking about Sky-Crapper which is about tha same as Pro-crap.They both make Mall-crawler lifts,do some research, you wont find alot of good things about either.Yeah there is always someone who bought one and thinks its the greatest.Id rather have RC over those and I dont like RC products!

Yeah I realize that everyone has their own opinions and more of them are favored to on or the other (RE or RC). The main question was about the "Sky-Crapper" lift due to the fact that I see there are quite a few people running their 3" lifts and love em, and yet I'm reading all sorts of negatives on the 6" lifts.

Good things about skyjacker lift.. the subframe, used a lot in jeep speed racing. skyjacker coils, high spring rates and used a lot bye naxja members, flex's well.. bad things! haven't heard a lot of good about there leafs, crappy trac bar.lot of complaints about there heim's on control arms being clunky.more bad than good. lots of other lifts out there with overall better quality.that being said.. I personally feel the best lifts are components from various suspension company's.in the end it's all about $ and what fits your needs.my.02

I agree and what fits my needs is a complete bolt-on kit that will handle the little bit of light wheeling/mudding that I do with my 98% MallCrawling Daily Driver and am just looking for others opinions that may or may not factor my purchasing of said lift.

In his first post he did say the others to.. Sorry.. But he is right about crap.. All the reading i have done always say the same thing

Do some searching.. look at it this way! is saving a grand worth your personal safety? cuz there trac bar and it's relocation bracket is straight up dangerous.. and when you hit a speed bump at the mall, do you want to listen to those clunky heims? i am not saying you should do this but here is a example of what you can piece together for a few hundred dollars more. RK long arm upgrade, RE,bds, skyjacker coils, Re leafs, quality RE or IRO trac bar with double shear bracket. price tag , $1500 or less, depending on where you go to obtain parts.

How could you hate RE? The only argument with RE and RC is whether or not the RE is worth the extra money, but it is undeniably better.

I could argue with you there ive never been terribly happy with my RE kit. Dont get me wrong the Trac bar is great but other than that i have lots of room to complain.

After seeing some kits and using there part i would say go with RC. Very good product for a good price. Also what size tire are you trying to run and do you not wish to trim or is trimming ok. I ask because at 6" lift your handling will be much worst compared to a 4.5" lift. Steering angles drive shaft angles control arm angles have a limit on where they like to work.

Thank you builder, thats the kind of response I was looking for something other than their heims. Don't get me wrong I have considered peicing together a kit, but to me it seems less time consuming just ordering a whole kit, but will look into it further.

Mindless I am planning on 33's right now with a possibility of 35's, and will also be getting either bushwackhers or rustys flares so trimming is an option.

if you lift it over 4 inches, i would do control arm drop brackets or long arms. also get a good double shear trackbar.

Alright well if your thinking 33s they will honestly look a little out of place on that much lift if your doing 35s should look alright. But both those tire sizes are doable on 4.5" lift with some trimming. I guess its just up to you on what look you are going for. Post pics when you get it together either way.

Right now I'm just trying to get ideas of my build. Had to break into my lift/gears/lockers/tire fund to help my mom with her bills cuz she lost her job. So this will all be based on what i get back for taxes this year.

Clayton 6.5" kit and don't look back
