I will finally make it to to the Rubicon for Sierra Fest this year and have some questions? I will need a secure place to leave a 6x8 offroad camper while on the trials, does anyone have recommendations? Icehouse Resort seems logical for the Rubicon but, is there somewhere in between there and Slick Rock? I looks like 4.5hrs trail to trail so it may be easier to get another campsite closer to Slick Rock. Any info or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

If your unit is fully securable/lockable, folks will leave trucks and trailers at the Tahoe staging area and then drive around to begin the trail at Loon Lake could be the easiest bet. For the second half of the trip at the Hermit Valley Campground (The trailhead of Deer Valley trail is literally right in the camp) you can set up your camper trailer there for the second weekend. If you end up doing that and driving around, depending how thirsty your rig is - the drive from Tahoe staging area to Loon Lake is about 90 miles, you could top off in south lake tahoe (Raley's gas station on the corner of highway 50 and 89 intersection is my go-to just passing through, or the Safeway gas station off highway 50 if you're stocking up with some food is another good option. Else if your rig is more thirsty and you'd like to fill up as close to the start of the trail as possible, in Fresh Pond is a gas station which would be the closest option to the Loon Lake trailhead from highway 50 side: 7720 US-50 #7720, Pollock Pines, CA 95726. Going to Fresh Pond requires a little doubling back to Ice House Rd.

Like Mike said, I think that leaving the trailer at the Tahoe staging makes the most sense. You might even be able to meet up with one of our other people going and park your trailer on theirs in order to make it a little more secure.
As far as the 2nd half of the week, all of us will be camping at the Hermit Valley Campgrounds and you shouldnt have any issues leaving it there. Both locations, take your normal set of precautions to keep honest people honest. Reality, if thieves want something bad enough, they will find a way unfortunately.

In past years some members (sdspearo) have parked tow-rigs/campers at a campground in south shore for minimal cost. This is the most secure and convenient option IMO.

There is a 76 gas station in Silver Fork down Hwy 50, very close to the Ice House Rd turnoff that we always use. No need to go to Fresh Pond.
