Should I buy these lights?

I have a chance to get a pair of IPF Super Rally 930 lights (100 watt low/170 watt high) for about $425 - $475. They are brand new in box.

I also have a chance to get a pair of IPF 800s for about $175

Are either of these good enough deals that I shouldn't pass them up?

IPFs are nice, but $500 for lights, are you serious?

mabye he's gonna be in the Super Rally....then you can never have too much light.

Unlike this date I had once in High School....

I have a pair of Cibie Cesar 100 watt driving lamps. They're not much brighter than my headlights (IPF H4s 90/100watt bulb), which makes them a little pointless.

Did they have a point in the first place?

Yes, for driving Santiam Pass at night.

I don't mind spending $500 on a set of high quality lights that I will get at least 10 years of service out of.

I've seen the 930 Super Rallys listed on a few websites for around $600ish + shipping. From a quality standpoint, are these lights actually worth $600?

I think that when considering offroad lights people should be thinking about breakage and wear...
they will and usually do break, i dont believe 10 years or even 3 years of DD and trail abuse would be so kind to pricey lights or any lights for that matter....

there are good lights for less than those, namly the procomp branded lights. even though i do not like 4wheel parts centers.. mostly becasue of the staff... i did buy the lights.. great price, super bright very durable and look great...
no big deal to replace if and when they break...just a thought

The IPF super rally 930 lights are the very favourite lights of offroaders in the northern part of Norway. Up there it is darkness all around the clock for the winter months. The downside is the price, but the upside is that it is the best you can get without going for xenon lamps.. I also think they are really durable, haven`t heard about any breakage on these lights yet..

More info and experiances can be found at www.offroad.no

Morten.
