Shocking problems

Has anyone else had problems with front shocks? I'm going on shock number three on my front passenger side. I have no idea how they work themselves so damn loose... And only on that side??

A little more info.

Stem on top or eye? What end is getting loose? Why do they need replacing? Are they getting so loose they break?

Yea just the bolt that goes onto the top stem. I used a pair of vice grips to hold the shock to tighten the bolt but it still worked its way loose. It scared me at first because I thought it was an axle that broke but, nope just that shock wiggling around. But they get so loose and jiggle that it strips all the threading away so I cannot tighten it any further

Double nut them and they won't come loose.

That's the trick. Mine came with a jam and i Never had an issue

Are you bottoming the shock out, or using it as a limit strap?

Either could be causing that.

That could be one good fix, they didn't come with a jam nut. And somewhat, I believe my semi-stock steering linkage or my track bar is limiting my suspension travel because the shocks are for a 4.5" lift not a 3 and when I had it on the lift without shocks it would still stop at a certain point.

If you dont want to use a jam nut you can always get a nylon locking nut. Also I think factory torque specs on that nut is seriously underrated if you use shocks that have a stiffer rubber top hat thingy.
