I've got nothing against Iroks, but I've never seen anybody around here using them. They seem more like a rock tire to me, but thats just my opinion. My thought is the SX's are better, tougher, all around tire for the PNW. I'm also planning on grooving and siping the center blocks.

Also, the SXs are a little less expensive than the Iroks if I remember correctly, and I've always wanted to try some.

Makes perfect sense. I've seen a lot of Iroks around TSF, and have always been impressed by them. Looking at the lug size and sidewalls of your SX's, I bet they will work awesome for you as well.

Now hurry up and get them mounted.

Just got done putting these together. Here's the first one.

My back hurts from leaning over them and torquing bolts, but its worth it!

I was curious how much they weighed, so I compared my new spare Toyo on a steel rim with the new tires and beadlocks. Suprisingly, the Toyos outweigh the taller SX's and beadlocks by over 10 pounds!
This is the new wheels/TSL-SX's.

Here's the toyo's/8" wide steel rim.

Jeremy, I am begining to think since you have a D44 in the front and you probably won't like the look or performance from the new tires on your rig............... Maybe we should just trade wheels and tires. My set probably weights more than yours (better for your D44 to run) and my 33's have already been worn in a bit so they should perform much better for you than a new set would. :gee: Just let me know when I should bring my set up to trade, I can be there anytime that is convenient for you :yelclap:

I can't wait to see them in person!!

Those are sick!!!:woohoo:What did you paint them with?

JACK

CARC green. Currently used on US military equipment. Before I painted them, I beadblasted them and used an etching primer on the aluminum.

The poll was actually tied when they were painted. So technically, I can do whatever I want:roll:

Michael, sure, I'll bring them to you. If I'm not there in 5 minutes....just wait longer.

All done. I got a chance to bolt 'em on today. These things are badass! :skull1:

It actually drives decently for bias plys, but they definitely let you know they're there. Slight hum at around 30 mph but smooth. Took them up to 70 mph on the freeway, and despite sounding like I was flying in a squadron of p-47's, they were tolerable. I'm very excited to run them on a trail and see how they do.

NICE!!!!

Looks good man, I think Im going to go a different color this time. If I also went OD it would look like Im doing a cheap imitation :)
As much as I like OD I think a bright color would be good incase a search is ever needed, I dont plan on needing to blend in to much anymore.

Im still debating on running my 33 all terrains for now or my 15x35x15 swampers for the road trip. could you live with the road noise for 6-8 hours or is it way to bad? I know mine will be louder so yours would be a good judge.

Thanks, Jeremy

I don't know if I'd want to do that. If I was thinking about driving 6-8 hours, I would stick to radial tires. My Jeep will be trailered most of the time.

Medford is as far away from Ferndale as you can get and still be in the NW. The chances that you would even see each other's rigs is pretty small. Also tan is a more accurate camo color for Medford, at least in the summer. :patriot: Once the snow is gone the Rogue Valley dries out pretty fast.
