Shims!

My measurements tell me that I need one single 2-degree shim and one single 6-degree shim. Does anybody have some they want to get rid of? Or where can I get single shims? RE sells them as just pairs, it looks like.
I need these for next weekend!
Thanks. Phil

:anon: Yeah just a little bit.
If someone maybe has a pair of 2-degree or a pair of 6-degree, or both, that they'd sell cheaper than I can buy new, I'd buy the pair.

I agree with Gary, I was trying to do it by eyebeall and was off. I did not have then time to fix it that day though so I am sorry.

Phil if I can arrange to get the axle from you ahead of time I can have them fixed by the time you start the lift. Give me a call (209)815-4827

I would wait until the lift was on, line up the pinion with the shaft etc and then weld in place. That way there is no shimming.

I was just giving you a bit of grief Rob :D

I have never welded perches on before it was all setup, I just know it would end up wrong :)

Just got off the phone with Rob, we're gonna redo it Saturday morning.
I'm going to get some of RE's antiwrap perches, get a little bit more lift at the same time. I don't even have the lift on yet and I'm getting inchitis. :D

Rob, how did you mess this up? Bolt the perches to the leaves and lower the rig onto the axle (which is on jack stands). Use a floor jack under the pinion to adjust the angle. Assuming that you have SYE, aim about 1* down from even with output shaft.
Let me know if you need help.

They don't have the lift on the truck yet... otherwise that would be feasible ;)

Where are you doing this? In salida?

Umm, yeah, you have to get the springs on to get your height set for proper pinion angle. Assume some settling (1"+) in the rear springs.

It's going to be at Keven's place.
You really think there's going to be settling? These aren't new springs that are going on in the rear. I'm sprung under right now, so I'm using my same old springs that I'm on right now.
