Secondary detent system?

I have a 94 ZJ and got a recall on the Floor shifter secondary detent system.My ZJ has 178k.I was wondering if whatever they are going to do,can it effect my Jeep in any negative way?I don't want to have it fixed if it may mess something up considering the mileage.Thanks for any replies.

IIRC, the recall was to fix the possibility of being able to shift out of park without the key in the ignition or without your foot on the brake. There should be no negative effects from having the recall performed.

That is the 733 shift interlock recall that makes you put your foot on the brake to take it out of park.

The b02 secondary detent recall is for the shifter itself. Just a more secure detent for the park position.

Just get the recall done and don't worry about it.

Thanks guys.Got it al fixed today.The shifter feels like a brand new one now.
