Marvels is a very good "EVERY OIL CHANGE" additive.... do not expect immediate results but in the long run it works wonders.... Also you can put seafoam in a spray bottle and search for vacuum leaks, the white smoke is a dead giveaway of a vacuum leak.

so i just went and bought a new oil filter and 4q of senthetic oil and 1q of the mmo so i should just drain it then add all 5q right is that what you are supost to do i also got a lil bottle like the pick of that lucas stuff for the gas i will add that when i fill it up in the next few day i ran the sea foam how i said to on the bottle a lil in the gas and some in the oil and the rest in a vac hose but not very much smoke came out is it cause i didn use enough of is my engine already clean

Any objection to doing all the following at once? Seafoam, MMO, Lucas gas additive...
Would gas additive be a waist if I use seafoam in the intake? Or should I Just put seafoam in tank and intake, and not bother with a different gas additive?

I'd never heard of seafoam until last week. I've seen it a Pep Boys and Walmart, I was suprised I never noticed it on the shelves before. I will be giving it a try.

You can use seafoam in the fuel tank as well, so why spend the extra $$ on the other additive? If you use seafoam in your crankcase (oil) then you want to do it BEFORE your oil change. If you are using it in your intake and fuel tank only, and adding some MMO, then you can do it all at once.

Finally tried the Seafoam, poured 1/3 can through the brake booster line, shut down for 5-7 mins, added the rest to the gas, started back up, some smoke nothing huge, which is a good sign I guess. See if it feels any different on the way home tonight. Sure cant hurt.

Sea Foam isn't like slick 50 is it? We used slick in an 85 S-10 and it leaked like a sieve afterwards! I'm scared of additives, they might clog or clean so well I'll develop new leaks?

No i only use it to clean the carbon out by pouring it in the brake booster vacuum line. I use Lucas oil stabilizer in my oil and i've never had a leak because of it.

i use seafoam in all my rides. every thousand miles the intake gets half a can every 3 thousand the oil gets half a can for about 10 miles and then an oil change. the other half usually goes in to the fuel take to clean injectors. i notice a hell of a change in the idle after i use it.

seafoam isnt a typical oil additive, if you add it to your oil, you should be adding it 50-100 miles BEFORE an oil change, not during or right after! the idea is add it, run it, then drain it.
and yes, if you dont get a lot of smoke, that is good! ive seen craigslist renix jeeps litterally hot-box my entire block in thick, DENSE smoke....

seafoam knocks shit loose, this stuff has to go somewhere, and it goes out your exhaust.... OF COURSE its possible to damage your cat or even o2 sensors if a big enough chunk becomes dislodged.
ive yet to hear more of it then warnings though. i'd say if your motor is that full of crap, then its best to get it out now.

I used to tell people to do it when I worked at advance. That parking lot was like the ICU that they put the people who are going to die anyway into. Sufficient to say that there was a lot of smoke involved.

Just my experience with Seafoam.
This is what my intake looked like when I took it off back in January to replace my exhaust header. This was after a few uses of Seafoam.
I will say, I really have yet to see any big smoke shows like everyone talks about with this stuff. Following the directions exactly has not resulted in major plumes of smoke, or much smoke really at all.

9 bucks a bottle?!?!? for those of you near the coast, wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just go to the beach with a jar or something? i guess when they bottle, it, they prolly purify it or something to make it better for your engine? you'd think that the salt in it would corrode stuff...
