I was looking around on the net and found people using this on youtube to clean out there jeeps and was wondering if anyone has used it and how it worked good or bad. Is this something that you can pick up at your local parts store or will i have to order it offline

Yes, and its at the parts store. do a search for Seafoam and I am sure there is a how to on it. I just don't feel like looking for it. I got a can of it to use it on both of my XJ's. Its about 8 bucks a bottle now. it was about $5 2 years ago!

Scroll down to the bottom of this thread and there are links to similar threads. Seafoam is great. You can run it in your crankcase, intake and fuel tank.
Altho, it will breakdown the properties of your oil if left in too long, I recommend running it in your crankcase about 500-1000MAX before your next oil change.
I also recommend using a qt of MMO in your next oil change as well.

I used to do smog testing back in Texas. It will help clean out your engine and give you better emissions. But like said, I would recommend changing your oil after using it. Don't just leave it in there for an extented period of time.

i have used it in the intake and the gas tank. it helped to lower my emissions levels for smog check. now i use it every 6-12 months to keep things clean

dont do it in your driveway, it'll cause lots of smoke. and i do mean lots.
i usually do 1/2 a can in the gas, and suck the other half thru the vacuum line going to the brake mc/booster. suck it in slowly to avoid stalling it, then when you get down to the bottom of the can, let it stall at the end of the seafoam, let it sit 20-30min, start it up and run away to avoid being enveloped in smoke from the exhaust on older jeeps.

x2 on it going up recently, i remember buying it for ~$5 a can, now its up to 9!

MMO? marvels mystery oil? Does that go in with the new oil or before the change and come out with the old oil?

Restore is another nice oil additive that I'll vouch for. Takes it a good 500-1000 miles to get good though, and you will only see a big change on an abused motor.

Have used this, didn't do anything for my current XJ, but have seen improvements in previous vehicles.

Yes. And it goes in with the new. You can also use it in your fuel tank. Since, I know my XJ takes 6qts with filter change, I use 5 qts of oil + 1QT MMO. I start her up for a few mins, shut her off, then check to see if she needs a top off.

so what is the mmo stuff all about never heard of it and you just leave it in when you change your oil then

MMO ...

Yes, use a qt of MMO in place of a qt of oil when you change your oil. Can befound at any local parts store, walmart, kmart, ace, target, etc.

X2 on "don't do it in your driveway." In fact, don't do it in town. Someone will be sure to call the fire dept if you do. It is good stuff, just stay away from civilization when you use it. (Also a fan of Lucas...super management with great attitude.)

if you have a heavily used and abused motor, then the potential is there to clog it. How likely that is, I don't know. I have used it on every car I own.

Seafoam is available in a can and also in an aerosol, its a mix of Petroloeum distyllates and some other solvent based agents like actetone and such. It is very helpful when using it on a rig that has had neglected blow by for years, if you don't like your neighbors I suggest two cans and rev the trottle a little when you do it and really get the smoke rolling!

Yea, the aerosol is more expensive for less product. Just put it in a cheapie spray bottle, works just as well. Deep Creep is the same stuff as well.
