Yes it is a NEW new camera- a pocket sized travel camera for a trip to Mexico this month. The D700 with my favorite 17-35mm lens and a speedlight weigh in at 7 pounds. Kind of hard to keep handy and travel light. So I picked up a Panasonic Lumix LX3. It has a hotshoe & a popup flash, a nice wide 24-60mm lens and RAW output. They didn't follow the crowd and cram a jillion megapixels into a fingernail-sized sensor on it either so it has decent low light performance for a compact camera. How does it look? Compare that ^ to this one from my Nikon:

The lumix shot looks pretty good Alex!

I really like the LX3. I've had heartburn over buying one of them or a G10. I think I've decided to go Canon now that the G11 has come out though. Still it's a hard decision.

The biggest heartburn I'm having is trying to decide between a 24-70 F2.8 lens or a 70-200 F2.8. I plan on buying one with tax money and for the life of me I can't decide which I want more.

The deal killer on the G11 is the size. It is too big to use as a pocket camera, and still uses a tiny sensor. I might as well have my DSLR!

I bought a 105 Micro that I will use in lieu of my 70-200/2.8. Wanna buy mine? Also, by chance do you have my Michael Kelsey Colorado Plateau Non-technical hiking book?

PM me a price and yes I do have that book. I totally forgot about it. Throw your Address in the PM and I will get it right out to you.
