Save The Gultches Feb 18-21

I'll be there if this thing drives by Friday night. New cam and lifters arrive Wednesday.

It'll be a risky ride for me. I'm definitely brining my tools. Any good ideas for extra things to bring? I've gotten in the habit of always having at least one serpentine belt on me. I think I'm going to get an extra idler pulley as well since I've had one of those go on me right after getting the engine all muddied up.

Then bring a 12v heater, generator, some blankets, a pillow and a credit card. Someone will come save ya. Like I said. If ya break at Gulches I live up the road. I can tow ya there and we can fix it at my house on sunday. lol

I've decided to pull the engine and investigate. I'm going to make sure all the oil galleys are clean and the internal bearings aren't destroyed. According to the machinist all that won't take long. I'm just pending one bolt I missed on the flywheel, then it's out and ready for disassembly and wiry brush-prodding.
Then it'll be hot tanked. Then it will be reinstalled. Assuming it gets hot tanked before Thursday and I can reassemble it (assuming I don't need bearings/crankshaft balancing) that day I just might make it. If I'm not reassembling it by Thursday and reinstalling it by Friday I won't be there. It's looking like I won't unless nothing else goes wrong.

And something always goes wrong.

I hear it's going to be a parking lot. I can't camp the night before because I doubt my son would have much fun.

I'm thinking about arriving around 10 or 11am. It's a good two hour drive for me. Arrive, eat lunch, air down, double check all my backyard mechanic mods and throw her on the double black diamonds.

It'll probably be fairly busy. All the campsites are taken now anyways. Like I offered before you're welcome to put a tent in my yard but It's 30min the other direction from Charlotte...

I'll be there around noon on friday, wheel carefully friday and be back early on saturday and ride all day. I'd be aweful upset if I broke on friday and couldn't ride with ya'll.

Just winch on to someone with a D60 and a hitch. Photoshop works wonders.

You'll have fun... There are a bunch of white knuckle trails and obstacles. Some hill cllimbs I'd be willing to bet you don't have the balls to attempt. ;) I know I don't.

I would post pictures but I don't have many since it's changed drastically.

The best way I can describe it is Uwharrie crammed into 88 acres...
