Rust Question

Hello, I've been browsing these forums for a month or so and pretty soon should be the owner of a 1991 Cherokee Limited. The jeep needs a little exterior work but overall good. There is however one small rust spot on the rear panel near the bumper. I was trying to find replacement body parts for that are but have found no luck yet. After I clean the rust out and weld a sheet of aluminum over it I wanted to try to find the right piece that goes over it. Can anyone help me out?

Use a piece of steel sheetmetal and cut it to fit, or buy a rear quarter panel from Sherman http://store.shermanparts.com/cgi-bin/sherman/product_list.html?img_num=075
For that little corner piece you are looking at spending $70+, so it would be less expensive to just use sheetmetal and make your own. Using aluminum on steel is likely to make the steel parts rust even faster.

yep. Thats a no no two disimaler metals is a no no. Sends rust into overdrive. A steel nail in a aluminum gutter will eat away the aluminum which is not really something many folks wouldn't expect since aluminum doesnt "rust" like steel does.
