I can't believe you guys are letting this slide....
essentially, the concept is this:
"I'll show you guys I'm right, even though I stepped in a pile of shit, YOU have to pay my gas expenses to get me there first."
People in that situation shouldn't be allowed to make ultimatums....
smells like a cop-out to me....
someone wanted to call me out on some BS, last thing I'd do is make them ante up, they already saw your bet, and raised it.
