Run to Pismo dunes

I'm in, will come up either mid day Friday if I'm by myself or Friday evening if I can get a buddy to come along.

How can I find you guys on the beach, anyone have a spot they gravitate towards?

pretty sure you wont be the only cherokee on the beach driving when there will be a big gathering of xj's like this. wont be hard to mind some

Wasn't sure I was gonna make it as I was having trouble getting my lift on, finally drove it out of the back yard. So, we'll see if any problems come up, hopefully not! :wierd:

If I am to come at 23:00 Friday and stay the Saturday, what dates do I have to make reservations for ?

Is it permissible to come that late ?
I mean, are there any gates or angry rangers ?

Andrey

Gates are left open, so entry won't be an issue. Rangers won't be on duty that late at the gates, but there is usually one or two on patrol the whole night(or at least very late. I think it would be a safe bet to just come in and if anyone says anything, just tell them you got there too late to pay and you will pay in the morning.

I'm getting there Fri afternoon. I know four that are staying at RV parks, but I'm sticking to the beach so we have a place to meet up and hang out. I'll look for a spot past mile marker 6, after the start of the sand highway. Look for my truck and camper, and I'm going to stake out an area with red and black flags. If you can confirm if you'll be there, and if you're tent camping or will have an RV, I'll have an idea how big an area to stake out. At this point, it looks like everyone but me is tent camping.

IF everyone who has said they are going is still gonna be there, it will be a pretty good group. Should be fun...... :D

My dad and I will be there. Hes going to be in a brown/purple 89, and Ill be driving a light blue 99.
We will both be tent camping. Will be arriving sometime friday night.

just a few opinions. im pretty sure i know what im gonna hear. but im not gonna be able to wheel at all due to no cage and a chopped top. you think it would be safe just to take it easy on the dunes or just not wheel at all and stay on the beach?

Bring it over.........we'll let you know when we see it. :D

thats still the plan to atleast drive the beach a little but not much wheelin im hoping to order it next week

here it is as she sits right now. ill get pics of the rear later.

im goin for sure. 91 white XJ conn ferr rack on top 33's and body damage up the ass.

goin friday after school so ill probably arrive there at about 6:00pm. im tent camping and bringing 2 other people.

007travis is going also

I'm going to look for a spot either close to the beginning of the beach camping area around mile marker 4, or a little after the sand highway past mile marker 6. If there's enough room at the beginning it could be quieter at night.

It would help to have a halfway decent count of overnighters. :)

How is tent camping at Pismo? I've never been, but I've done Glamis and I know I wouldnt want to tent camp there. I hate trying to sleep in the XJ though.

I will be there for Saturday night only. Arriving around 8am I hope.

It's camping in the sand......

There are toilets out there, and we'll camp fairly close to the beach. If the wind comes up in the afternoon then you have to deal with that. You could check the Pismo State campground and see if there are any spots left.

FYI....when you pass the ranger station to the beach MAKE SURE you let them know how long your staying. [1nite,2nites,3nites] i have a friend who's son was there this last week-end and recieved a $260 :rattle: fine for not having the proper window sticker [length of stay] in his xj.

Couple questions:
-Are flags required? Ive heard yes and no.
-What are people doing about food? Im thinking a stove and some steaks, or are we going to caravan to a retraunt(sp) or something along those lines?
-When is everyone getting there? Thinking about getting there friday afternoon or sat morning. Not sure which.

I guess I should just shut it and go. Ive been asking to many questions. :shiver:

flags required on ATV's not vehicles.
