Discussion about the Rubicon Trail portion of the event can be done here.
Aug 9 (Sat) - Travel Day. Some people choose to travel to the trailhead at Loon Lake on this day so they are prepared to start the trail the following morning. Camping at Loon Lake Campground (fee), at the spillway / trailhead, or there are a few spots just into the trail. Trailers can be parked at the spillway at Loon, or the staging area at Tahoe (Tahoma) and drive your jeep to Loon, depending on your Wednesday option. Or, if you are staying in South Lake Tahoe, driving your Jeep to Loon can happen early Sunday morning.
