Does anybody want to hit the Rubicon with me this weekend. I have a group of friends from Reno coming in through Tahoe side. Sadly, im down here so Im gonna have to go through Loon side. Does anybody want to go in with me? :cheers:
 
i really wanna roll up this weekend. I have a group of buddy's from galt going up to the con friday and coming back sunday. If i roll i'd be heading into loon on friday afternoon and out the tahoe side on sunday.

I also have one buddy going to top gun pit #14 for the end of the BITD vegas to reno race.

If i wen't with him we'd spend the weekend romping around the last 90 or so miles of the course.

I'm torn about which... I'll i've been doing is crawling lately so i'd love to get some pre-running out of my system but the crew on the con will be way bigger and thus possibly more entertaining....decisions
Who all from reno is coming? Anybody that jon and i met on the reno bronco canyon run? Eriksxj or spence?
 
Alan (alboyxj) is going as well as Spencer. Theres a lot of Reno guys going in.

I would love to go in with you guys, and can go in Friday afternoon. The Reno group is gonna be at the slabs friday night. Then the plan is go to the springs I believe, then out tahoe. Im willing to go out Tahoe or back out Loon, whatever works.

If you dont go on the Con, could i possibly meet up with you Galt friends and wheel in with them?

I'm 95% going to the con...but if not you can for sure wheel in with them. I'll give them a heads up if i don't go. They'll have a brown early bronco on rockwells, brown cj5 on 3/4 ton axles, built black yj on one tons, and two others.

I'm getting off work on friday at noon in folsom and want to leave folsom by 1pm. If your in cameron park we should meet up in cameron park right off the freeway and i'll gas up there.

Are you still rolling with the locked dana 35? How's your tranny?

Is the reno crew going in from tahoe or loon on friday? I take it loon if they'll be at the slabs by friday night, they're not camping at the slabs are they? If so why? Voluntarily waking up to the slabs and bare sunlight is like self inflicting pain to me... I have no desire to camp at the slabs on friday night unless we break and are forced to be there... I'd like to make it to at least ellis on friday night, perferably the box...

Ill be ready friday morning and will wait for you to get off work. We can meet in Cameron Park at the Chevron or 76 if you want. Im rollin on a new 8.8 thats open. Tranny is good, I didnt have tranny problems, it was the detroit that was causing it to make terrible noises. They are coming in from Tahoe and will be at Loon on Friday. I dont want to camp on the slabs either considering it would take us less than an hour to get there. I would like to Camp at buck or the box to watch people wreck their rigs. They will be going out tahoe side so we could wait on saturday until they get to the Box, then wheel down to the springs. Leave the springs Sunday.

Alright sounds good to me. Havent been to the Box, but i have been to buck. How far is Buck from the box? Wanna just camp at Buck so we can swim and stuff? Ive only made it to the slabs on the loon side, but ive made it to buck from tahoe side, so i have a grey area that i dont know much about.
 
the box is way more entertaining to camp at and i'd much rather camp there then buck.
Plus we have spider lake at the box which has way more tolerable temps than buck. Spider is around 15* warmer.
PLUS you have rocks at spider lake you can jump off of.
Here's me a few weeks ago supermaning into spider...

If they wanna do more wheeling than that on friday they could at least come to ellis and meet us there, then they get to go back up walker hill and give soup bowl a try or just watch others attempt and eff-their rigs up.

As for time, that's completely contingent on who your wheeling with, how many stops you make, breakages, how long you wanna stop at soup bowl to watch/crawl. I know a few in our group will wanna do up soup. Anywhere from 2-5 hours from loon to the box with our group. Its really hard to say as i try to make sure most i see broken down is covered.

yah i love wheeling with the reno crew i cant lie. you guys are rad. itll be hella fun with you guys. im letting my welder relax. been welding uca truss and my first attempt at half assin welding a truss to the 30. just doing small welds at a time to the cast. ill swap this LP30 in tomorrow if it all goes well.

what guys are coming in from the north side?
alan, spence, and jose? maybe eric?
