OK, to followup on this how/what/were :D As in where it'd be best to start from, meet up and so on.
Crash you going to have your rig ready by then? And Chuck... I owe you that beer or substitute for it, you going to show up to collect on it?

Btw, anything in particular I should need? I think I got all the requirements taken care of from here.

I am going to try to be ready for it.
I don't think I'll be able to get out of Davis before 1:00 Thursday afternoon (last final exam). How early are you going to try to get on the trail, and is anyone else planning on getting up there later in the day?

I'm trying very hard to be ready. New motor won't be in, but I should be running in one form or other!

:D You gonna "borrow" Lupine's rig? :D

Phil, I'd like to start sometime in the morning, but it all depends on everyone else. The only time that I really care about is that I'm hoping to be back in SoCal by Sunday evening so that I can go back to work on Monday.

Well, I'm hoping to have my junk ready by June. I'll have to check the dates, it gets kinda hard to coordinate with the Family and all. I know we rescheduled the Red/Coyote Run, if I go I'll probably have to take my Kids:  Without my wife!

I'll let you know ASAP, but my rig has to become 4WD worthy before I can really make any promises.

Cool!! Bring your kids! I will have my 14 year old nephew with me and he could use the language practice :D

My kids need some ethncity, maybe teach them some Polish. It would shock my Dad!! :D

My kids are 5 and 2, I'm not sure if your nephew would have much in common with them.

His youngest sister is going to be 3 this summer so I think he can handle that :D

I could probably only take friday the 18th off, not thurs & friday. Could I meet up with you guys friday morning somewhere. Where do you anticipate setting up camp for thursday night? I really want to go, but cannot take 2 days off of work, my parents in Chicago just came to visit me for a week in Cali and want me to visit them later on in the year, but I need to accrue some time at work again.

I understand that Remi needs to get back especially since he is in Socal, but I was wondering if anyone was planning to again sometime during a weekend, like heading up to the trail late friday or saturday morning. How long does the Rubicon trail take to complete at a good pace? Is there places to get on/off of it midway or so? I think I heard that Icehouse Rd comes in halfway and you can get on/off there, is that true?

Once you're in there you're in there. I could run the trail in about 5 hours(less if I really hauled) but I have a well setup rig and I've run it a bunch of times. And besides, who would want to run the trail that fast? :)
For someone new to the trail give it about 12 hours or so at a leisurely pace, there's lots of photo ops along the trail.

So you're saying that a real long day or better yet a weekend (all saturday and part of sunday) is a reasonable estimate? I have never been on the rubicon, but swear that I will run it this year or I will die. I have read too many article and watched too many videos on it in Chicago to just pass it up when I live so close now to it. I guess people that live so close to it don't think of it as much, but then again I hear that the trail's beauty and it challenging parts brings people from all over to experience it. Would anyone be up to running it on Saturday/Sunday so that we don't need to take any time off of work? I heard it gets pretty packed during the weekend though I guess. What do you guys think?

If my junk is done, I may go for just the weekend, starting the trail Friday night and catching Remi Saturday sometime.
