Rubicon express CLOSED?????

Sorry old news I was home sick from the world and all that is falling apart in it.

I kinda saw this coming. Their quality control, inventory control and leaf pack quality had really been suffering the past 2 years. (Leaf packs made in India last I knew) and many got mis-marked causing folks to get the wrong leaf packs for their applications........ not good.

Website says they're closed for re-structuring. Generally means they're being bought out, or there's a big change in management happening.

It'll likely be a good thing in the end. I highly doubt they're closing up for good..... but kinda odd they haven't projected a return to business date to keep the public appeased.

I guess stand by to stand by.

Personally, it is a little discouraging especially since I went with Rubicon two years ago when I lifted my XJ. The quality of the lift I purchased seems OK, no problems or failures. I fact I have enjoyed the experience I had with the company and their product. I hope they come back or at least if someone purchases the name they continue to make replacement parts. If not I guess it’s time to move on. Too bad though, I was just starting to consider a long arm kit although I have not gotten serious enough yet to pick one.

Does this even matter? One of a gazillion companies that sells the same stuff.

I have boughten from Rough Country and Rubicon Express both... RE is top notch stuff...

My feeling as well. While I'm thoroughly enjoying ballistic fab parts these days due to the fact I build more now in the past I've really liked RE

I purchased a better kit intending on making a DD out of a lifted truck , RE was the one I could afford so
I went with them , except for the bushings on the trac bar its been a good kit .

Secretly they used allot of outsource vendors for some of their best parts like the shocks , allot of people like them because their mono tube series is just re-badged and painted Bilstien's , witch are good shocks .
It wouldn't be a far off guess to assume their springs were made by one of the big spring manufacturers
like Eibach or Progress , I hate to say but people are more into hybrid kits that they can upgrade when they have the money , pick and choose how far they want to go and what parts to do it with .

I paid a ton of money for the RE HD kit and with the knowledge on this site I could have paid allot less for some of the same stuff . Tera flex charges allot more for a better product , maybe thats why their still in
business for now ...

Hey Troy
You should talk to Tomken, they were sourcing RE springs for their lifts, pitch them the BOR flexies as a replacement.

AFAIK, RE is currently shut down for 30 days...they are fixing the bushing issues and to do it right, they had to shut down to focus 100% on this major problem.

It isn't a money issues, bankruptcy or new management.
