they are all good guys...people get mad cause they won't match junkyard prices...they are a Jeep specialty shop...you get what you pay for and if you can get it cheaper somewhere else then jump on it ... I have been a JW customer for over 10 years and they treat me right EVERYTIME!
it was a very fun rubicon run! i decided friday at 5:30 pm to go, called mike (mike 1331 on here) to see if he wanted to roll through. met up with sean at the loon side trail head around 10pm-11pm and ran into the slabs.
thats where i busted a u joint in the rear CV on some very good times stairsteps.
we were finally done rebuilding the whole rear CV setup with the jeep on a very nice incline situation and then camped on the top of the slabs friday night, by around 4am we were asleep... couldnt wait to wheel, we woke up at 8am and headed out to ellis/spider by 10am.
i was lucky enough to put a pass side window into a rock and scrape all of my doors and rear view windows but left the fiber glass baja flares in tact at all costs.
when i dropped mike off today(we wheeled to the box and back to sacramento today) in folsom i noticed that my pass side axle side UCA mount had ripped off completely . good to know you can drive a radius arm setup with just one upper at least down ice house and down 50 . i plan on trussing it and welding it back tomorrow.
oh yah, my rear window popped out, maybe due to unibody flex? didnt shatter just fell out.
sean is a crazy and takes the hardest lines ive ever seen anyone take for a daily driven XJ with stock uppers. he had to get winched out of soup box today, i took the bypass....
seans friend dave is hella cool and his rig is nice. his other buddies are cool too.
its good to know that window tint also holds broken windows together from shattering as well as keep cops from seeing in. all in all it was a great rubicon trip , especially since we were only there for 20 hours and only slept for 4 of them and wrenched on my rear DS for 2-3 of them. lots of wheeling.
it was good to meet mike #2(small shafts on here) he has a nice rig for sure.
Didn't see any snow, but we didn't go past spider. The snow drift that was next to thousand dollar hill that got me a few weeks ago looked like it was gone.
Had a blast
Sean you crazy with your dd
Jon thanks for the invite, hows the driveline vibes?
vibes seem ok if i keep it under 2600RPMs in OD so far. im going to put a new CV in the rear Driveshaft and weld up the pass side upper mount and see if it fixes it...
i am getting used to the ZJ front leather seats and a/c real fast.
i was organzing and building shelves in the other garage from 12:30am to 1:30 last night after helping my parents move all day sunday, early that morning we did a bunch of work on my brothers range rover. tonight i need to cut and weld up some rock sliders
