I'd be down if i can get my no power/sputtering under load at higher speeds issue fixed... It's fine when crawling but at speeds :dunno:
 
were based out of Orangevale...but I'm always up there doing something.


sputtering...you had that issue last summer too...wtf?

dude repalce your CPS and TPS mike!
test all your other sensors and make sure the plugs/wires/cap/rotor are all new. new oil. new O2 sensor.

actually it could also be a bad ground. make sure all your grounds are cleaned up real good.

Did almost all that. Sean why not dv if other fello xj'ers are doing it up?
 
wish I could do the DV-SR run but I got to go to redding to get my oldest son for part of his summer visist with me, and then take him back up later. Just too much money in petrol to do that then make another 400 mile round trip drive over there. Sean there is a very good chance I will make at least half the con run with you. I got to find a trail spare 33 first though. I know a couple people who may have one I can borrow. I will let you know early next week if I can do it.

is the dizzy dead on?
i wonder if you swapped out the ECU?

sputtering(off the top of my head):
fuel delivery
sensors reading off due to bad geround or bad sensor

fuel pump related issue
clogged injectors



spark:
CPS going out
TPS is mis-adjusted
throttle linkage sticking somewhere
bad battery connections/alternator connections/short somewhere around there

test coil
dizzy and cap/rotor
grounds
ECU

tranny (throttle valve cable would cause lower RPM shifts)

new cps
tested tps and is good
swapped injecters
john kelly's beefy bat/ground wires
1 year old vatozone fuel pump
about to put in a 90 ecu i just got
no throttle stickage
good spark
new cap n rotor

I'm going to work on it sunday afternoon when i get back from rafting cache creek so i can hopefully be ready for seans proposed weekend. pm me if you want so we don't clutter things.

Just swapped phones and can't find my old sim, sean and jon please text me so i have your numbers.

Side note; Jon you got plans for this sat/sat night? If not we MAY have one more spot avail to float down the river pre-empted by a lil high speed wheeling on the arbuckle grade...followed by poolside bbq. I'll double check if your in and can swoop you up on my way.

plans kinda changed... I talked my buddy into taking his XJ with me so well be heading up Saturday.

Sunrise and 50 @ 2pm if anyone wants to join.
 
alright...well he called and said he might be able to get saturday off afterall...so we might be headed up friday later in the evening, camping at Spider all weekend most likely....i guess i will just post when i get a for sure for sure day..but all i know is WE ARE GOING THAT WEEKEND.
 
I wish i could make this. I have the next sat/sun off. But i have to work that sat.
 
I was planning on going wheelin that weekend, thought about trying barrett lake, but the con is always good.

does barrett restrict the trac width of the rig? i was told that they have a 6 foot wide gate, So i wouldnt fit my jeep is 6'10 wide.
 
barret lake is closed and probly wont be open this year do to wet trail conditions and some snow. the gate width is around 79in. sounds like you need to go to the con with us
 
I think thats what I will be doing. just took the xj out for some local wheelin' and t case started making noise thats not normal, might need a rebuild, before I go.
